This a good build?

Good afternoon,

I am a uni student and in need of a laptop so I'm able to finish and start projects while away from my desktop. I am an Architectural Technology student and will be using programs such as revit, indesign and other rendering software so I'd like a setup which can run all of these programs and more, As smoothly as possible. This current build is already £1220 and i wouldn't want it to go any higher then that preferably, i don't mind a bit more if its needed but no more that 1.3k.

If there are any other suggestions please let me know,

With your budget, it's not too bad.
But it can be better
So, with your streched budget, this is what i propose you
(I upgraded the ram, the GPU (that is cheaper, and i don't know why), the warranty and i added the dead pixel guarantee and the better thermal paste ^^)

Hi, I doubt that your system would have too much battery lifespan with this specs and with the use that you will do. With ssd disks I would not get under 32 GB RAM to help avoid unnecessary writes in it and reduce his lifespan using part of RAM as disk, although your SSD hard disk is big enough to ensure his life "if it's almost empty".
You must ensure that your operating system don't make unneeded writes (defragmenting for example) since it would reduce his lifespan. I think your battery will start dying soon, by heat and by cycles of discharge.

So what do you suggest sorry, i don't know much about this stuff, can you explain it a little easier and what would you do?

Ask if this notebook can work without the battery plugged just connected to AC. and put the battery only when strictly needed. I doubt if it fully charged would reach to 2 hours of autonomy with a heavy load (as 3d edition software) Take note that your specs have a cpu very fast (almost 5ghz) and it causes a lot of heat with the GPU together (fast too).
I have not experience with windows (24 years using GNU/Linux) but for example in one of the results in google about: protect ssd disks windows lifespan

However I have not test it, but every solution should be focused in reduce writings and heat

PD: checking the specs I have seen that the consumption of the GPU only is between 35-80 watts, maybe the 2 hours are too optimistic with your "normal use" that with 3d focused and is heavy....
