I'm running a 1440p monitor with a 165hz refresh rate (S2417DG), I'd say the budget should be £2,100 maximum inc. VAT/delivery. any thoughts on what can be made better?

Solid build overall.
Since you are going for DOMINATOR PLATINUM I'd take the 5600 MHz ones, you will only be able to use 5200 MHz (cpu limitation) but for extra 9 quid you get 36 instead 40 CL ram sticks (it's slightly better/faster). I'd swap the 3070 for 10/12GB Radeon - 6700, 6700 XT or 6750 XT(the last one being my preference), they offer better value for the price and performance difference is minimal.
Not sure about your storage requirements but I'd stick with 1TB m2 and 1TB 7200RPM HDD as base and only change/add more if you really need and have to. Instead I'd get the fastest R/W speeds m2 for your budget.

Thanks for the advice, I'll take a look at changing some of the stuff you mentioned. going with a 6750 XT seems like a good shout, I'll save quite a bit of money that way, easily staying within my budget which is nice.

You are welcome! One thing though 6750 XT doesn't seem to be available with PCS at the moment, the advertised ETA is by the end of the month.

I figured as much considering it's greyed out, but I wasn't gonna buy the PC right now anyway, I'll probably hold off until summer or around then. Who knows, by then maybe some newer stuff will come out that can potentially make this build better value.

Yes, I am in a similar position. Planning a new build within the first half of this year to take full advantage of the new AM5 and 6750 XT ticks the boxes for best value for performance GPU that also meets my requirements at the minute.
