Good evening , 1st time poster looking for advice/help on a new pc build....

My back story , pc gaming since the original call of duty .
Family forced a console downgrade and have been using a ps4 to play.

I'm totally out of the loop with regards to what I need I've seen the new nvidia cards coming out so I will probably wait a month till buying a new rig.

My budget is £2500.
And I have a Samsung u28e590d monitor
This pc will just be used for gaming

Any help would be appreciated

With that budget i'd wait a week and order with the new 3080. With a bit of trimming from the above spec you could probably squeeze in a better monitor for gaming aswell.

Not sure i'd waste £600-£700 on a gpu that will be redundent so soon.

The 2080 Super is in there as a placeholder as it’s exactly the same price as the 3080, can’t post the spec with the 3080 in there as they’re not taking orders yet 🙂👍

With regards to intel over AMD. I think its a age thing...

Years ago when I built my own PC amd was a no go lol

They’re lagging behind these days. They’ve got more security issues that require patching and they’re using an older platform. AMD are much better CPUs (although I still wouldn’t buy one of their graphics cards just yet).

Extra storage may not be necessary, I was just giving you a pretty luxury spec to go with your luxury budget 😁

But that is the point...you don't "have" to spend the full £2500 to get the best for what you want...for example, the 3800XT will perform the same as the 3800XT when it comes to games as the load is on the graphics card. You are basically buying parts you will never fully utilise

I would put it towards a more suitable gaming monitor. Superwide or 4k 144hz would be a minimum on that gpu.
