It’s a professional card so has better support for the purposes you’re intending.

It’s designed for professional applications whereas the one you had selected was a gaming card which is completely irrelevant for your use case.
Would increasing the ram on that card you recommended make much of a difference to the performance? Or as it is, the setup will work how I need it?
I will also be doing some programming on it too

Not sure I follow? You can’t increase a GPU’s VRAM, that’s a physical limitation of the card, it’s not something you can add more onto. But you don’t need much VRAM anyway as you’re not doing any graphical processing. All you’re doing is outputting the screen image. A GT1030 would be powerful enough to power your monitors just doesn’t have enough monitor ports.

It’s well configured for your budget, and far more suitable and powerful than the one you specced previously.

@SpyderTracks What is the reasoning for adding two SSD 1TB rather than just 1 2TG SSD drive? I guess with the HDD you added I could set up a raid for extra protection is that right? But the 2 X 1TB SSD I don't understand could you explain? - I am not looking to reduce the cost here, just trying to understand the configuration

Thank you

You can remove the second PCS SSD, that was left in by mistake.

The Samsung SSD is over twice the speeds of the previous drive you had configured, will make a huge difference to performance.

Done - thank you.
Got this message pop up about the power supply:
Will the running costs be higher for me in general if I use a bigger power supply just because it's a bigger power supply? If I dropped the power supply W would that cause an issue with performance? This tells me I'm likely to use less than half the power this thing would give me.

Also, found a potential issue - I tried adding a wireless 5G network card but it says the AMD chip is incompatible?

Power supply doesn’t dictate what power you use, the computer will only draw what it needs. The PSU is configured as it runs quieter and is much higher quality. Plus will allow for any upgrades you may want to do in the future.

You don’t need to add a WiFi card, it’s already got one as part of the motherboard.

Wow that's good. I did see WIFI written in the spec but I didn't know what that was for - assumed I would need a card for it. Shows how little I know.

Thanks for this but also thank you for how responsive you've been. It has really helped shape my decision on my original order (emailed in to cancel) and order this one. I just hope it's a case I can simply "swap" orders and pay the difference, not cancel, refund and then reorder. We will see.

I'll throw in one final question if I may:

If I wanted to say add another 2 monitors to this configuation, would another graphics card like the one you configured be suffice? Let's say I picked up two "cheap" ACERs - would the same graphics card do?
Ultimately I can see myself going to 6 monitors (I do understand 1/2 good 4k monitors would give same/better results but I'm content with my screens thus far). If I go to 6, same card again? Or should I change that card NOW with the assumption I'll move to 2 additional monitors in the future? I plan to get a stand to hold these all one on top of the other.

Edited to add I tried to add an extra PNY card to the configuration but it wasn't an option.

Yes, that’s exactly why I specced that card. It’s designed exactly for that purpose so you can just put in a second card and fit another 4 monitors. That’s what it’s designed for, a scalable multi monitor setup. It's really cool in that way and not something a gaming card would be very suited to.

Have a read through the bumf on that card, it's a really good card for your uses:

If you wanted a second card, give PCS a call, I'm sure they'd fit one for you even though it's not on the configurator.

Good deal I may just do that just in case.

ALso, with this whole configuation will I be able to see the temperature and fan speeds of this machine? I see that sometimes on some folks machines they can get the core temp etc and fan speeds. Would be a nice metric to have I suppose

Yes, you can do that on any computer.

Download and install MSI afterburner for that, plenty of videos on youtube explain how to set it up

Hi I purchased a new custom pc and it’s on the way. I was wondering how I might buy an extra graphics card from the site? I don’t see a way to order it individually but instead have to buy a new pc.
My new build has been shipped already - looking to add another card later.

If you go into ‘your orders’ from your main PCS account and find your system, click on that and scroll to the bottom. There should be an option to ‘upgrade this order’. That will take you to the next screen where you can upgrade individual parts and have the option of having them sent to you and installing them yourself or sending your computer back to PCS, where they’ll do the work for you (for a fee, of course).

Ok pc arrived today happy days.
One problem I am having - the graphics card is only detecting three of my four monitors.
If I add 2 of the acers to the card one doesn’t appear to show anyting and the other loads windows but constantly blinks on and off.
If I remove the black screen one the blinking one fixes itself.
I then added the two other monitors I have - hanns HE225DPB and they both work fine in conjunction with the one Acer.
Now, if I add the remaining acer then all four go black screen on me.
Any ideas how I can get this going?

Thanks
