Unsure regarding compatibility and Windows 10

Alright so, I put this build together and I have 2 questions. Firstly, does anything immediately jump out as being wrong, incompatible or just plain silly? And second, I chose "No Operating System" because I'm planning to install a cheaply obtained copy of Windows 10 on it, but when I click through to the summary it says "Unfortunately Microsoft® Windows 10 is no longer supported on this configuration" Is that actually true? And if so, why?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks

In the meantime, there's a few things for me.

5600Mhz RAM - You want 6000Mhz
ASUS TUF - Overpriced, far better value with the non-ASUS offering.
1 drive - All eggs, one basket.... not a good plan. Reasons in the links above on more than one drive.
Thermal Paste - Not required on premium coolers, they already have good paste pre-applied

On Windows 10. I would be careful about those "cheap" options. If you end up with an OEM license it can drop at any time. Windows 10 is coming to end of life so PCS are no longer supporting it going forward. It would be similar to supporting Windows 7 or any prior Windows release. Things move on. It's not to say that what you are building won't be compatible, it will, but if you need any software support the OS will negate the availability of receiving it from PCS.

Windows 10 was pulled from sale worldwide at the beginning of 2023. It’s in extended support that runs out in October this year.

If you have an existing copy and just want to install that to upgrade to windows 11 that’s fine.

But PCS won’t support you at all on windows 10.

And be aware, there are NO legitimate sales of windows 10 licenses anymore, so you’re opening yourself up to a stolen key which can be barred at any time by Microsoft

Uses will be gaming and general use, budget isn't too much of an issue though I'd like to keep it somewhere around what it currently is. Monitor will be a 1440p 240hz AOC one that I'm going to buy.
Thanks for the suggestion about the RAM, that was an oversight on my part, and I swapped the ASUS TUF card for the Palit/Zotec one (it doesn't specify which it is but from a quick google both seem decent). Good to know I can save a few pounds on the unnecessary thermal paste too
Regarding the single 2TB drive, don't worry I have 2 SSDs in my current PC that I'll be installing in the new build alongside it.

Just so you fully understand, you can't use windows past the October end of life point. When an OS is end of life, it stops receiving security updates, so doesn't matter what Antivirus, or how good your firewall or network protection is, anyone on the internet will be able to directly connect to that device and do whatever they want to on it as an administrator without you ever knowing, because the OS itself has no protections.

Just the standard stubbornness mixed with ignorance really I like windows 10 and it's what I'm used to, so I want to cling on to it for as long as possible. Plus I know essentially nothing about Windows 11 or what benefits it offers over 10.

The familiarity from Windows 10 to 11 will take you 5 minutes, i did it a few months back, not sure why i held off for so long, no major differences that you will notice as a user apart from a few GUI changes, don't make it hard for yourself.

Can't understand why people are so resistant to change, even when it's for the better. Yes, i lost some start bar customization options (like not being able to add it to the side instead of bottom), but windows 11 is (especially now) much better in every way. My opinion!

The irony is that as with any Windows new version, you can use a program to automatically change the layout as it was in the previous version, or manually make the changes as you want to, this has been the case since windows 95.

Yeah making windows 11 look like W10 just takes a couple of clicks to do things like move the start button to the left rather than center, and W11 has things like windows explorer with tabs which make life so much better
