Was thinking of upgrading from my 4-core 1770 CPU along with the RTX 2060 super and going with this .
I am using a 24" 2560x1440 144hz Monitor and i will be mainly using it for gaming and general every day use browsing etc , and i feel i want this to last more than the 5 years i had with my last Computer with the 4 core 8 threaded chip from intel with concerns for upgrading as i want this to last for than the 5 years , reason for upgrade is simple .. Microsoft is not going to support this i7 7700k in the future so at some point i am thinking maybe best to do this upgrade now while i still have the money to do so with everything starting to rise sharply eg . petrol , electricity , gas , food etc and consumer goods going through the roof
May i have your thoughts on this spec as £2000 is max i would like to spend on this upgrade for performance and longevity and i am thinking could i have better for same money ?

Honestly, looks pretty solid. I think the main comment I'd make is on storage. 500GB is not a lot considering how large game files are these days. Do you plan to add in any pre-existing storage or anything? If not I'd recommend popping in a 1TB Intel 670p as a games drive, if you need to shift parts around to make that acommodation, feel free to say and we'd be happy to adjust it for you (y)

Hi Thanks Junior , I will be installing an Adata XPG Pro 1TB m.2 Nvme drive which i am currently using for game storage , I also have another M.2 Drive the WD 750 500GB which i will also be looking to use , but I am torn between the Gigabyte Elite board and the Asus ROG STRIX Z690 -A Motherboard , I could stretch to buy that board instead as it only costs approx £36 more that the ELITE board and i'm thinking maybe the ASUS board is a step up in class .. but i'm not sure what is your thoughts on this ? ... is it worth Buying the Asus board over the Gigabyte board ?

Awesome, sounds like storage is sorted.

On motherboards, the AORUS and the STRIX aren't really necessary for the 12700K, something like the TUF Z690 (or Gaming X if you wanted to stick to Gigabyte) would do an ample job of powering that CPU, you'd only really need that level of board if you were going for the 12900K. You'd also be able to drop the WiFi card as the TUF has WiFi included.

Many thanks Junior for your input on this it's very much appreciated , i have a tough decision to make on the motherboard choice , but i am leaning more towards the Asus boards as i am already using the Asus Rog Strix Z270-E which is an excellent Board so i may choose the Rog Strix Z690-A , but i will check both out for features compared to pricing before i make final decision and order .
