Not far off, and much better than the previous options (y)

I’d change the 2TB Samsung 990 Pro for a Solidigm P41+ or Corsair Core XT MP600 for their better endurance/reliability rating, and take the RAM to 6000mhz to get it to the AM5 sweet spot.

I promise I’m not trying to dig or anything, I’m just really pleased you took the advice to rebuild it because believe me it will make the world of difference.

Just for clarity, you mentioned this in your last thread

Just as an update and for clarity incase anyone else reads this it turns out I can return and upgrade. No need to cancel or refund or start again.
Spent the extra money and went big, thanks.

Was that possible or did you have to cancel? I wasn’t aware PCS would do that on an already despatched order?

Yup absolutely possible. I could've sent the parts list via support email, done it on the site or called them up.
In the end I've opted for a refund and will be ordering again in 2 weeks.

Thanks will do.
I'm reaching the upper limits of my budget. I've been advised by support that 1000W PSU isn't necessary so might go with 850W and make those changes.
My last question. For Simracing do I really need a 4070? the price difference is huge and with a 4060 I can probably upgrade the motherboard/RAM/HDD a bit more.
If the jump between 4060 and 4070 is large I'll go with it but was curious.

This is not being advised to go lower, the configurator is telling you the minimum you could get away with, but you’d never spec a system that low, it doesn’t take into account transient spikes for one thing as well as upgrades. You’re not building the PC with its current design in mind, you’re accounting for what upgrades may be required in 8 years time. 1000w is the lowest you’d want at this level.

You can’t just put any components together and hope they’ll work, that’s not how pc’s work, the whole build has to match the level that you’re designing it to. What make and model screen are you using?

If your budget has reduced then you need to be clear about that.
