Hi,

Just took delivery of my new build which is based around the 16GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 4080 SUPER and have noticed it doesn't have any usb-c slots in the i/o panel for the gfx card.
is that normal for this card?

That's normal for graphics cards in general. AFAIK the only NVIDIA card that has had a USB-c was the 2060 (the Founders Edition and one partner card); there's only a couple of AMD GPUs that have/had it. For connecting USB-c, you'd need to use the USB-c port on the motherboard (assuming it has one of course)

Why would you need a USB-c port on a graphics card?
It was called USB C Virtual link and was present on most of the RTX 2000 lineup.

It was incredibly good especially for VR but also a lot of professional displays that have those input control wheels for use as timelines scrubbers and other stuff

Unfortunately other manufacturers didn’t take it on board and since there was little adoption, NVidia dropped it.

Buf for instance on the PSVR2 headset, you need a special adapter box to allow it to connect to a PC.

That is UNLESS you have a 2000 series GPU, it will run perfectly fine off the GPU usb port!

Cheers, my last desktop pc was with a 200 series and then a gaming laptop so I'd gotten used to having a usb-c slot! Thanks for the swift reply

Interesting, thank you. I'd not heard of that before. Shame it didn't catch on to be honest.
