It's a standard ATX PSU, so you should just be able to access the PSU from the right side panel.

Do note, if you're replacing the PSU, you need to replace the cables as well, they're not interchangeable (they could be but there's no way of being certain). Even the same manufacturer will change PIN's between PSU models.

That looks like a Corsair 175R Carbide case, so the manual is here...but it's nothing more than disconnecting cables (if it's a modular PSU) and unscrewing the PSU from the case.

As said above, if you're not replacing like-for-like (make & model, just more power) then you need to check that the cable types are the same as the pin-outs might be different.

The cables will definitely need changing anyway....with the CV series PSUs, the cables are hard-wired into the PSU whereas the cables for the Seasonic are modular. It's a fiddly job but isn't too bad...a few years ago I needed to replace a TxM series PSU with an RMx and it took about an hour in total to remove then fit the new one

That sounds horrendous...I was hoping it was going to be more plug and play..maybe I should have purchased a more powerful Corsair PSU ?

Seasonics are excellent PSU's, with Superflowers, I'd put them at the top personally.

As the CV PSU is not modular, you cannot simply remove the PSU and use the old cables as they're hard-wired into the old PSU.

The benefit of the new, modular PSU is that you only need to connect the cables that are being used, so you don't end up having to find space in the case to stuff the extra unused hardwired cables - plus it's a newer ATX3.1 / PCIe 5.0 PSU so handles power spikes better.

BTW, what GPU are you fitting, as that's quite a small case and thermals may become an issue with an upgrade from a 3070 to something beefier.

That's going to be tight, max GPU length in that case is 330mm and according to the Gainward site that GPU is just under 329mm

ok guys ..get ready to roll eyes...i was only going to buy a two fan card but looking at specs and prices somehow i bought this one without noticing it was 3 fans.
so as it was already on its way i measured the external width of the case as 40cm so assumed it would be ok.

the zotac 3070 8gb is 232mm whilst this one is 329mm so i assumed it would fit. If it doesnt (with no future issues) then its not coming out of the box and i'll replace it..

Nearly 4 inches difference between those 2 cards which isn't surprising as it has the extra fan

i can get inside the case and have a look after midday. I have customers using it at the moment.
even if it fits inside then from what some people have said 'thermals' or other things might cause an issue?

Hi...I'm back! Thanks for your help so far. So I think i have 1 cm to play with so i'm going in.
But with the little bit of knowledge i've gathered you are not supposed to use a pigtail connector. The only other connector I can find is on the other side of the computer and that appears to be a pigtail as well...although i'm not sure.
I've attached 4 photos...one of the full pc...one of the pigtail and connector feeding the 3070....one of the back of the pc with a spare connector and then one inside the pc where that spare connectors cable feeds back into and also runs back to the psu...but it connects to something on the motherboard as well. you can see that if you go in close on the image....

really appreciate anyone looking at this for me thanks

You’ve got to remove all the cables to fit your new PSU & cabling anyway, so you’d use the new cables that came with the Seasonic kit - and depending on the space you have to play with you may need to loosen the motherboard from its mounts to disconnect/connect and route the cables.

What you’re seeing is due to it being a non-modular PSU and the spare cables have to go somewhere, and whatever is on the end of the cable bundle is what you have to work with, be that pig-tails or splitters when you need more connections.

BTW, there may be a 12V HPWR cable for the GPU included with the GPU or PSU, and as the new ATX3.1 PSU delivers more power over each cable, it might only need a single PCIe cable into the PSU).

Thanks for replying.
I don’t get a lot of spare time but really need to do some testing with the new card.
So I was just going with the old psu for now as I thought it would be a lot quicker than putting the new psu in.
If I can get away with it.
Power wise it should be ok given what the card draws power wise.
I will fit the new psu shortly after.
am I correct about pigtails?
Also could I use the connector that is spare?
Understand if this method annoys you. It annoys me as well. I usually do a job properly.

That spare one does look like a normal PCIe power cable, so as long as it frees up enough to re-route it then it should be fine for short term use…BUT a 12700 + 4070Ti Super is pushing the safety margin of an ATX2.4 PSU as the 4070Ti Super can deliver transient spikes of over 400w on its own…but that’s partly why you bought a new ATX3.1 PSU.
