Hey i recently got battlefield 5 . My laptop (vortex IX i7-9750h rtx 2070 ). Is running very hot with this game around 93°c. Everything is on ultra including ray tracing and my framerates are good avg about 90-100 . Ive had the laptop a few months and i love it all other games are running very smooth and cool, with the exception being kingdom come deliverence(also played on ultra) getting quite hot. Are these temps safe ? Laptop throttles sometimes on bf , never on kingdom come . Any help would be great
Thanks

Hi, I have the same model, bought a couple of months back...can't say I have had any overheating/throttling problems thus far. I bought mine with the specialist thermal paste not the stock on the CPU, and have never seen it post over 70 degrees in CPUID even under load. You didn't say whether the heat issue is primarily with the CPU or the GPU? 93 degrees is way too high in either case and I would suspect possibly your fan vents are either too obstructed for good air flow (have you tried gaming with a laptop cooler?) or you are using power performance settings in Control Centre but only with the fan setting on Auto (the handbook advises to use the Fn <Esc shortcut hotkey to turn on maximum fan settings).

I haven't really played any recent games which tax the laptop graphics with RTX effects (BF5 is one) but have played Metro: Last Light on Ultra settings, which since Crysis has been the flag bearer for stress-testing graphics cards - yet with no problems. I bought the laptop chassis specifically because it was not "thin 'n light" and would thus allow sufficient thermal dynamics for a full RTX 2070 rather than the throttled Max Q variant. It should stay cool enough in most situations unless you are playing for hours on end.

I recommend you at least try running the fans on their maximum settings for cutting edge games and if you still have heat issues, contact the PC Specialist tech guys direct.
