Hi all

I want to remove the CMOS battery from my old vortex series as I am getting error code:0xc000000e. I've removed the hard drive panel, laptop battery panel and the larger panel but I still cant see the battery. Is it hidden under something?

I'd rather not be doing all this but I can not get past error code:0xc000000e as I have no boot option when loading the laptop up. When I get the blue screen F8 does nothing but flicker the screen.

Many thanks

Can you get into the BIOS? If so, load the default configuration.

Also, see whether you can boot the Windows installation media (DVD or USB stick). If you can, download a new copy of Windows on another PC and reinstall that.

Can't enter at all, get no option. Tried pressing F2, F8, Delete etc but nothing works. I think this maybe because of its restarting from quick boot mode (which I can't turn off as I can not get pasted the blue screen)

Removing the CMOS battery is a worthwhile step. Phone PCS, they can tell you how to get at it.

This sounds like a hardware issue to me though....
