I have recieved the Vyper 17.3" today, I must say i was rather impressed on the service provided by PCspecialists, the laptop was built in 7 Working days, Ordered on the 10th and Recieved on the 20th, i must say this is very good especially with the state of the world currently.

I have bought this laptop because i wanted a thinner laptop with good specs and chosen this, i was about to purchase the defiance instead, but i already had a laptop from that series, it is a great laptop, however i wanted a different feel rather than just get the next one in line.

The Laptop was delivered to me with the drivers installed, this was a time saver as when i had the Defiance one back in 2016 i had to download all the drivers and sometimes i'd have to re install them.

Chassis & Display
Vyper Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080) - Nice and Wide, very delightful to look at
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor 10875H (2.3GHz, 5.1GHz Turbo) - Haven't Tested thermals as of yet
Memory (RAM)
64GB Corsair 2666MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 32GB) - i read that for some of the laptops, generally the RAM does not come at the Hz you got it for, rather a default setting of 2100Hz, I was glad to see that it was running at the speed i got it for
Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2070 - 8.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1 - Have not played any games as of yet to see
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W) - Smooth works like you'd expect it to, I'm going to transfer my old SSD and HDD into this drive and see what it can do
1st M.2 SSD Drive
256GB INTEL® 760p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3210MB/sR | 1315MB/sW) - Currently Empty Will install Linux on this Drive
Memory Card Reader
Integrated Micro-SD Memory Card Reader - very handy incase i get a micro SD card in the future for my phone, currently idle
AC Adaptor
1 x 230W AC Adaptor
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Battery
Vyper Series Integrated 91WH Lithium Ion Battery - haven't Tested the battery live yet, but to get a glimpse of it, as i was writting this post, the battery went from 97% to 94% in the space of 5-10 minutes, this is me operating in office mode with Eco switched on, however battery life is not something i'm worried about, my Defiance's battery held out for 4 years and a half,
Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND
Sound Card
2 Channel High Definition Audio + MIC/Headphone Jack - sound is of okay quality, has good bass, i'm partially deaf so surround sound is useless for me
Wireless/Wired Networking
GIGABIT LAN & WIRELESS INTEL® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2.4 Gbps) + BT 5.0
USB/Thunderbolt Options
1 x THUNDERBOLT 3 PORT + 3 x USB 3.1 PORTS - spacing between ports is good, the thunderbolt and HDMI are placed on the back of the chassis, and that Type C port does NOT however accept Powerbank Charge (Had to try it atleast)
Keyboard Language
VYPER 17 SERIES RGB BACKLIT USA KEYBOARD - Even though i've lived in the UK for a while i however favour the American keyboard Layout, Microsoft allows you to switch your layout on the windows 10 TaskBar on the bottom right corner next the to the Time and date. The Keyboard Spacing however i had initial reservation for, as i miss the Enter key on the Num Pad. and it feels a bit compact however the keys themselves are larger in radius than my Defiance i had. i have had a few mistypes this is mainly due to me misplacing my finger on the A and pressing CAPS LOCK instead. the lighting of the keyboard is very nice, you get to switch the effects on the GamingCentre AKA ControlCentre, currently my Effect is determined by the music am listening to.
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001] - Windows 10 comes installed if you have chosen to when you order the laptop. No Long Updates and all that Time Consuming stuff, simply sign in with your current microsoft account and select a few settings you'd like and you're in whole process takes about 10 minutes max
Operating System Language
United Kingdom - English Language
Windows Recovery Media
Windows 10 Multi-Language Recovery Image - Unlimited Downloads from Online Account
Office Software
FREE 30 Day Trial of Microsoft 365® (Operating System Required) - thankfully saved the process of downloading them, simply logged in with my academic Account and done
Anti-Virus
NO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE - I Chose no Anti-virus software, However i am thinking it maybe wasn't the best idea, i've been using Avira and ran out on license back in june, so Maybe i should check if PC specialist would allow me to download it still,
Browser
Google Chrome™ - Came installed, However The infamous Microsoft Edge has also seemed to attach it self too! and you can not get rid of it, Thanks to microsofts new update, So i've hid it as much as i can. and you must Select Chrome as your default browser as that was not done automatically
Keyboard & Mouse
INTEGRATED 2 BUTTON TOUCHPAD MOUSE - okay to use, i however use an External mouse
Webcam
INTEGRATED 1MP HD WEBCAM - Alot of people have said they do not like the webcam placement, I otherwise Like it, when i need it face level i have use of a laptop stand that is able to extend upto a metre or so
Warranty
3 Year Standard Warranty (1 Month Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour)
Delivery
STANDARD INSURED DELIVERY TO UK MAINLAND (MON-FRI) - Smooth Delivery No Dmg to packaging what so ever
Build Time
Standard Build - Approximately 7 to 9 working days - Was built within 7 days
Promotional Item
Get Rainbow Six Siege: Gold Edition with select NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs!
Welcome Book
PCSpecialist Welcome Book - United Kingdom & Republic of Ireland

I will Try and get some proper benchmark going once everything is set, However most of the games i play are not too demanding that my old defiance could run it but not good however, Only Triple A game i can think of that i can actually use as benchmark is Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord

Overall i love the laptop so far, got exactly what i ordered and very happy to have bought from PCspecialist again. i was thinking of CyberPower however i've used PCspecialist before and they did an excellent job, so why Not again?

Hi,

I am planning to buy the similar spec laptop. Could you please let me know the exact weight of this laptop.

Is it as per the mentioned spec ~2Kg or the final weight is more?

Hi there,

The Laptop by itself with nothing attached to it, on my scale it weighs 2253g. This however i used the food scale to measure it just now and the area of the food scale does not compliment the size of the laptop. and the weight it showed me, may or may not be 100g~. more than it's actual weight.

Update 1 week later:

I have had My Laptop for a week now and i have to say this laptop is holding it pretty well, other than a freeze sometime here and there, although this is most likely due to the microsoft update, I have so far used it for menial tasks and i have downloaded a few games and played the following on it and looked at the average FPS;

all were tested on the Maximum setting the game allows

Player Unkown Battleground (PUBG) - FPS: 130
Mount and Blade II : Bannerlord - FPS : 145
Valorant: 250+ FPS (i set it to max frame rate of 144)
No Man's Sky: 135-140 FPS

and in regards to CPU temperature, i haven't been able to find software that allows you to monitor the system in real time as i play, however i have used the GameCentre monitor and i alt tabbed to check the temperature,

For All the games the Maximum temperature it reached was 84 Degrees Celcius and does not go above it even by 1!

This to me is excellent! and could not be more happier. When the laptop heats up you can literally feel cool wind blow from the keyboard it self!!! this is not something that my old Defiance had or could do, the keyboard however heats up in the midle around the T - O area and can feel a bit hot to touch, however this is not something that's gonna burn you up. For the Thickness of it i say this is very well built. I have used several softwares such as Matlab, Prism, Android Studio i had about 120 Tabs open on google chrome , the system Drank it like it's Milk.

However i do realise that the 64GB may have been an Overkill, but i'm thinking of the days it won't be

so if anyone is unsure wether to buy the Vyper series or not, i'll sum up the main advantages of having it and why you should go for it

- Very light
-Metallic chassis feels smooth to hold
-Good Heat management,
- when you push the keyboard in, there isn't any bounciness, however i'm not going to EVEN Try and apply the proper force, otherwise it might break due to my own stupidity

what may be considered as a disadvantage

-Touchpad can get confusing as i am used to visible buttons, I however use an external Mouse most of the time
-The heat up of the middle top region of the keyboard (however, this is most likely a trade off for the good heat management, your WASD is cool as Ice, you probably might be able to cool yourself in the summer heat with this!)

If you have any further questions i am happy to answer them as best as i can
