Weird Noise Coming from PC

This is my first purchase from PCS and there is a weird noise which I believe is coming from the PSU. It started happening roughly one week after I first booted it up.
It is like a weird chirping sound that happens frequently due to the fan hitting off a cable but I could be wrong as to what it actually is. I recorded it and uploaded it to this google drive link:

I'm almost certain that the noise is coming from the PSU. Any idea as to what I should do? I really don't want to pack the PC up and send it back because it will take ages especially due to COVID but if there's nothing else I can do, I'll obviously do that.

I've attached the specs below. I'll try and disconnect the HDD and see if there's any difference.

I disconnected the HDD but no luck, the noise is still there. Just to double check, is there only two cables that you have to disconnect from the HDD?

Yes only 2 cables, one for the power and one for the data which is about 1/2 the width of the power one.

Thanks, unfortunately the noise is still there even when the HDD is disconnected.
It's a strange noise. :(

If you open the side of it and try and listen to where the noise is coming from, e.g. top, bottom - might be better to work out if it's e.g. the cooler fan or the psu.

One other suggestion I can think of is to open the case. disable the CASE fans (the back / front / top) and then see if it happens. if so we can rule out the case fans, Should be ok for a limited time to run like this, especially if you hear it from first starting the PC and not while under heavy load (e.g. gaming).

If some how the noise has stopped when you disconnect the case fans, plug them in one at a time and turn on.

Remember - turn off between each one, don't change connections while still turned on -- yes common sense I know. :)

Don't remove the CPU fan though... lets rule out the case fans first.

Okay, I'll give turning off the case fans a go first. The noise starts at random times, sometimes it is before I boot into windows but sometimes it can take up to 10 mins. It can also occur while idled in desktop with nothing else running.

I'm 100% it must be the PSU! I've linked a video below:

Whenever the noise starts to happen, the fan on the PSU starts to slow down. I think I should contact them via email about this because I doubt there is anything I can do about it from here on out. I'm pretty sure that I'll need a new PSU but let me know what you think.

Can't access that video :(

I take it you removed the case fan connections then so should only be left with PSU / CPU / GPU fans running, by all means with the side off, you should be ok for 10 mins etc for quick testing.

Yes, if you now think 99% it's the PSU, contact PCS - though it might be a case of returning it back to them to fix. -- I've never done that (still waiting on my first order) so don't know how long it would take.

Yes I only had the PSU,GPU and CPU fans running and the noise was still there after 5-10 mins.
Here is the new link:

I forgot to change privacy settings for it.
I'll go ahead and contact them anyway, thanks for the help!

Excellent video - does indeed show the issue and the fan changing speed. When you contact them, point them to the video as well, then they can see the issue them selves - either point them to the post if on phone, or the URL if email.

Good luck with that. Would be good if you can update us on the result, e.g. sending it back or a new pack sent out for you to install.

So I have been in contact with PCS over the past 3 weeks and basically I had to send my faulty PSU back and they said that they will send a replacement. I had to organize the courier myself due to COVID and changes with the company's policy due to Brexit. They said that they will pay up to £10 to cover the shipping costs (better than nothing!). I also had to organize my own packaging and protection for the PSU because they couldn't provide it for me, yet again due to COVID.

Hopefully soon enough, the replacement will be sent out.
