Ive ordered son a pc which we specd ourselves, changing anything the compatibility checker suggest wasnt right. we have picked rtx 2060 but it doesnt say which manufacturer. Does anyone have any idea who pc specialist use for the 2060 offered by them. The power supply suggested was a 450w corsair will this be enough? The case has 4 fans, the chip is an Ryzen 5 3600x on an asus tuff gaming b550 board with 2 x 8gb of corsair vengance pro rgb ram at 3200mhz. This is our first self pick pc build from a supplier rather pre configured as previously owned. Its due for building in a few days and im starting to panic we have picked the right combo. If this works out i plan to build my own in the future.

Thanks

The GPUs they most often use are Palit and Zotac, although due to the massive demand that is ongoing, they’re currently sourcing other brands as well.

If you could copy and paste your whole system spec from ‘your orders’ on your PCS account onto this thread, we’ll have a better idea of how the system looks.

Also, can you tell us the make and model of the monitor you’ll be using, please?

The GPU is going to struggle to push 4K on that monitor. You may have to lower the resolution in order to get a decent frame rate. The 2060 will blast 1080p out of the water and do a passable job at very slow paced 1440p but bear in mind that it’s not going to look great, the image will always appear better at a monitor’s native resolution.

It’ll do the job but it’s severely limited in any scope of upgradability. I definitely would’ve changed the case to one with better airflow, the PSU to something that will allow an upwards trajectory of GPU changes, and the SSD to a 512GB M.2 drive.

If you’ve got time (and the budget) to make some changes, you could improve the system considerably 👍

Since no brand is mentioned, then it could be anything.

I ordered the AMD Fusion which clearly states an Asus DUAL RTX 2060 card. But not which model.
I queried PCS and they said it will have 3xDP and 1xHDMI ..... this was ok for me as I can use DVI or DP
But then I checked the Asus card range and none of the 2060s have this port config.

Then I got a reply which stated that the Asus cards in stock are DUAL-RTX2060-06G
This has one more connector - 1xDVI-D, 2xHDMI, 2xDP
So, I assumed this is what would be getting.

When it arrived, the card fitted is DUAL-RTX2060-6G-EVO
with 1xDVI-D, 2xHDMI, 1xDP

None of this matters to me but it illustrates that with such a high turn over of orders, they can't tell you in advance which card will be fitted.

Thanks. Changed to case to corsair icue 465x and added a rear fan, upped to psu, changed the storage to 256gb m.2 to be used as the boot drive and now a 1tb ssd for main storage. I have an external 2tb hdd already. Change the board to b550 plus wifi. Hopefully that will suffice for now as his friends seem to be happily gaming on much less. Would loved better GPU but cant wait any longer for the boards on pre order as he has already missed Christmas. He is chappin at the bit to get going.

You'll need either a replacement GPU to drive that monitor, or a lower resolution screen, otherwise it's going to be a pretty poor experience, just so you're aware.

Yep, it's not 100% ideal but you can just run games at a lower resolution than the monitor OR use the same screen resolution but turn down the render resolution scale in the games that have the feature e.g. Fortnite, COD etc.

Although if I'm not mistaken, 4K and 1080p ratios scale so you can change the resolution from 4K to 1080p and it'll be OK. You will however be limited to 60HZ.
