What should I upgrade first(if anything)

I realise this may not need upgrading for a while but I'd figure I'd asked since this is only the 2nd PC I've ever bought. I had a long stint of playing on console. My first thought would be the RAM but any input is appreciated.

Have you actually got this, or have you ordered it and waiting on it, if the latter, what monitor do you have (resolution & refresh rate or make and model), and whats the budget, also if you're waiting for it id up the warranty to silver & scrap the arctic paste as corsair coolers come with premium paste pre applied

@SpyderTracks @Martinr36 Good call, both of you. Currently, I'm working from home on a small desk(I rent furnished and came with the desk so can't get rid of it which sucks) so I use my work monitor which is a Lenovo 27 inch 1440p 60hz so definitely will need to upgrade that in the future.

I'm planning to get a 27-inch 1440p monitor ideally 144hz or higher(I think 4k as pretty as it looks is a bit overkill for a 27"monitor) so if you have any suggestions that'd be great. A budget of around 600 for the monitor should be a good point.

Warranty may be a decent shout but I'm also quite comfortable troubleshooting any issues I may have. I've done that quite a lot in the past.

Thanks

1440p is going to be a waste of the GPU.

You really want 4k 144hz or super wide with a 3080.

But what's the build for? Do you already own it?

I'm still not clear what you're asking for?

Ultra wide I would consider. I also have an LG C1 48 inch that I would use for some games with controller. Should've mentioned that. It's only 120 but I think having highest settings + 4K may not hit 120-144 all the time. Correct me if I'm wrong on that but most benchmark videos.I saw hit around 90-110fps at 4K but obviously with a Gsync monitor.that wouldnt be an issue either.

I ordered the the build, should be here second week of March. I realise that some things may be overkill for now but main goal will be gaming and possible game development in UE5 as well for projects.

For the warranty @Martinr36 how do I add this. I can't find an option for it so I assume I just contact support?

If you've already got the machine I don't think you can, you still haven't told us if you've actually got it

Its in the second paragraph I ordered the build. I didn't receive it yet but I assume it's too late then since I placed the order already.

If you are thinking of getting a 1440p display, the 3080 is overkill but not completely ridiculous. I made a run-down of some of the 1440p options available yesterday:

I'd go for the MSI MAG274QRF-QD option in your shoes, though the Asus PG279QM would make better use of the potential of your graphics card if you're likely to play fast-paced games.

Thank you, I will definitely play games like CS:GO and Valorant on it so the Asus one would be perfect for that. Seeing it also has G-Sync is even better so will definitely consider getting that.
