Are you planning on adding more RAM yourself? If not I'd recommend opting for dual channel memory as you'll see a fairly significant increase in performance. So that'd be 2x8 rather than the 1x16 you've selected.

Personally, I'd also go for the fastest RAM possible, which on this laptop is 2666MHz, but that's secondary to getting the dual channel RAM I think. Perhaps one of the mods can weigh in.

You should be able to make alterations right up until it enters the building phase if you decide to do so.

Additionally, paying the £9 extra for the better thermal paste is well worth it as you want it to run as cool as possible for best performance and longevity.

i did opt for the thermal paste but it didnt show at first, it has now tho, i plan on adding another stick of ram along with a samsung 970 evo 1TB nvme m.2 drive later down the line the build maxed me out for a couple months wage 😂
i do also have a desktop pc with a i5 6400 with a msi 1060 3gb with a 970 evo 1tb 16gb of hyper fury x 2666 ram so im not wanting loads of power

Going for single channel ram is vottlenecking everything unnecessarily. It will cost you literally nothing to go with 2x8 over 1x16gb please don’t waste your money on single channel

Is the laptop for gaming only or do you need 32gb for other reasons (work, streaming etc). You'll also want your second set of RAM to match what you currently have or it'll only run to the lowest speed. As mentioned above ideally you'll want 2 matched pairs either 2x8 or 2x16 of the same speed to optimally use dual channel.
