Oh go one then,

1998 Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 t/s Lusso, and it was a beast I mis it but at least I've got my 147 1.6 t/s lusso and Punto Evo Sporting to keep me happy these days.

... still fakin thieves from insurance companies raise my insurance every year! This just can't be helped.

I should probably burn on wooden stick for suggesting this, but I am starting to understand uninsured drivers now. You can drive for years without getting caught and even if you get caught .. how much the fine will be ... 200, 300, 400 pounds? Damn I pay a lot more for being legal... every year!

Yeah, the fine needs to be upped to discourage people.. I think it's a few hundred like you said, but with 6 points on your license. Should be a year ban imo

standard-1930s.jpeg1937 Standard 10, bought in 1957 for £30, sold it after spending £3 on a tin of paint for £35 just before M-O-T tests started to bite. Not me in the picture BTW

Did me well for almost 5 years, and was pretty damn nippy when I needed it to be. But after 3 months of constantly getting more problems, it was time to let it die.

We know its an R-reg...Rover...something or other! We can find it! :D

Weeks after posting this I realised what you mean haha, it would be a Rover 214 SI 16V (K Series engine), 1.4L of sluggishness (most likely due to the fact the engine and clutch are from a Rover 414 SI 16V, ever so slightly different engine, and clutch was converted from the hydraulic setup on the 414 we pinched it from to the cable operated 214. As well as most of the wiring.... it's a Rover 414 with a 214 built around it now really... but I digress...)

Sounds like a good mix of parts.. ;)

First car I owned in the Uk was a 1990 Toyota Hi-lux Surf, which was wonderful.

Japanese grey import, so plenty of insurance issues, but did mean it was loaded with extras. Cd player, air con, automatic, electric windows, variable intermitant wipers, rear heating.

Loved it to bits, however due to my neglect it ended up in bits.

A 2000 black audi TT 1.8. My first and so far only car. I drive it every morning to uni, no more public buses! I did drive a Ford Maverick(dads car/jeep) for a whole year before owning the TT, so simple and easy to drive :turned:

^Not bad for a first car! :) I'm not old enough to drive yet, but when I do get my license and I'm insured, I hope to 'borrow' my dad's Corrado VR6. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds!! :D My dream car would have to be a Lotus Elise. Since I'm in Ireland, taxing a car with an engine over 2.8 litres costs nearly 2 grand!! Thing is, I can get a 1.8L Elise for around 7 grand. Cheap, powerful, practical(ish)!

2 k is cheap these days and for an engine that size you are lucky. My Escort pictured above was 2k and it only has a 1600 engine.
