I've only ever owned Intel with Nvidia graphics so I can't really offer a fair vote, but having used both of those brands for so long, I don't think I'd ever move away from them. Maybe I'm just scared of change?

Lol. My side is winning again. I guess that's because it's the superior side. Most likely lol. Plus, I have good taste and choice. And I read up on things, I'm a careful buyer lol.

Intel-Nvidia has been for long time.

I remember the 3DFX Voodoo Rush & Voodoo 2 (damn I feel old). The Voodoo 2 still sits happily with a 3dlabs Permedia2, mind you I still have a 486 DX4 100 and a DX2 66 built up somewhere.

I remember the launch of the Voodoo, it was the most epic jump in graphics i have ever seen. The only thing to come close is dx11 tessellation!

I went for the PowerVR card, the competition to the 3dfx, it looked loads better in Tomb raider (see through water FTW) but every game required a patch and powervr never really released any :(

Boooooooo - tomb raider lookd wicked though at the time :)

First availiable Voodoo card was end of 96, Quake 2 was December 9, 1997. Tomb Raider was late 96 (22 November 1996).

quake 2 wasnt out when they came out mate....
Orly?

I had Q2 before my Voodoo and watched the magic happen from software to hardware rendering.

Besides Quake 1 was out June 22, 1996. Before the Voodoo. Yet all thats besides the point.

You were playing Tomb Raider, theres no coming back from that.

The game that they marketed the card with was Tomb raider, as thats what made the most difference, hence my reference, mine wasnt 3dfx, it was a PowerVR kyro chipset...which i had at first release, so while good, i didnt wanna wait a year to play quake II before i installed the card

Il give you one thing about Tomb Raider. The sound of her neck breaking when you made her swan dive off a cliff. Hours of fun!
