What's your favourite combination...AMD, Intel, Nvidia, ATi..?

Intel + Nvidia is win beacuse DSN says so !

In all serious Intel wins at the moment because at almost all prices ranges you get better proformance for the same price with Intel.

ATI / Nvidia is a much more heated debate. Personally ive gone Nvidia after 3 years with ati again.. bang for buck amungst other things. Drivers being another one. SLi proformance.

Then how come is one of my previous posts Phoenix came up a better build using a AMD PHENOM II X4 955 (3.20GHz/8MB CACHE/AM3) - BLACK EDITION compared to the build I came up with using the Intel® Core™i5-760 Quad Core (2.80GHz, 8MB Cache) + Turbo Boost, these builds both came out at the same price. Please explain, im very curious, oh and by the way I went with the Intel build.

Thanks again DSN but I still can't get my head around the 2.80GHz vs 3.20GHz, oh and in noooo way at all am I saying that either one of these is better than the other, I' just trying to understand why. Kthx

5 years ago, the best processor was the processor with the highest clock speed.

These days there is a whole lot more to it.

The Phenom II X4 955 + HD5770 is better than an i5-760 + GT430 for gaming, benchmark that.

I just recently sent to the tip a Gateway pc back from 1999 costing me nearly as much as the pc i just orderded from pcspecialist.It was a pentium 2 450HZ with 2 voodoo 2s in sli (back then it was called scan line interleave or something like that, i think nvidia change its meaning.Brought me many happy late nights playing DIDs Total Air War.
