Will the 'PNY XLR8 CS3030 2TB M.2' work with my 17" 'Octane IV' laptop?

I've got an Octane IV 17" laptop which I'm looking to upgrade a little.

I'm comfortable with fitting parts etc, but I do get confused with compatibility. I took a look at the 'upgrade' options in my PCS account, but it only shows a few m.2 options such as the 'Intel 660p 2TB M.2' and '1TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2', but I had a look around elsewhere & found the 'PNY XLR8 CS3030 2TB M.2' which has much better read/write performance than the intel 660p and is also cheaper (per TB) than the Samsung 970.

So I'm just wondering a couple of things:

1. Will the 'PNY XLR8 CS3030 2TB M.2' fit? I assume it would, but just want to double check.
2. Is it a good purchase vs the 2TB Intel 660p?

Cheers!

That’s a PCIe 4 drive but the laptop is only PCIe 3

Great, thanks Spyder!

One last thing, in regards to ram, my suggested upgrades on PCS are all 2133mhz or 2400mhz, does that mean the Octane IV isn't capable of accepting 2666mhz or 3000mhz ram such as this?

All the specs seem to line up (as far as I can tell), but just makes me curious since those products aren't offered in the upgrade list.

What CPU do you have? The RAM is dependant on the CPU socket and therefor the motherboard generation.

I'm using an i7 8700k
The CPU should accept up to 2666MHz, BUT there may be a limitation on the motherboard that only allows up to 2400Mhz. But I'd buy 2666MHz and try it, worst case it will just operate at 2400.

I doubt PCS will stock 2666 though, you'd need to get it elsewhere, Amazon is always a good option in case it doesn't work, they have a great returns policy.
