Worried about case and cooling...

Just bought the below spec but I am a little worried about case size and cooling for cpu & gpu.

What are you going to be using the PC for? What is your budget? What monitor will you be using (make and model or resolution and refresh rate)? Please include the configuration link, so that changes can be suggested.

For me I went with DDR5s because I wanted the pc to last 4 to 5 years with out having to upgrade motherboard if I had a DDR4 board.
I think at the moment DDR4s 4600MHz are performing just as good as the DDR5s at the moment. But that will change over the next few months as the DDR5s get more optimized.

With a 5k budget it's very easy to go overboard, so I've tried to restrain myself here.

Case
FRACTAL DEFINE 7 BLACK QUIET MID-TOWER CASE Placeholder case, would recommend the Corsair 5000X when it's back in stock
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i9 16-Core Processor i9-12900K (3.2GHz) 30MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® ROG STRIX Z690-F GAMING WIFI (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 4800MHz (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
10GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 - HDMI, DP, LHR 3090 is wasted for your uses. It's a big price hike to go from the 3080 to any other variant. You'll be paying 50+ euros per extra frame. You have the budget to go back up but I wouldn't recommend it.
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 530 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 7000MB/R, 3000MB/W) Added in a super fast primary drive for OS and programs.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2700MB/sW)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Both the 12th gen Intel and 3000 series GPUs are massively power hungry. 1000W would be the minimum I would recommend, 1200W would not be unreasonable if going back to the 3090. Future GPU generations are also looking to be even more power hungry.
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler Would recommend a 360mm AIO to look after the 12900k.

Had to split in two because I waffled too much. Our go to 4k monitor recommendation would be the Gigabyte M32U.

One question to wonder about will be whether the current DDR5 motherboards will support higher RAM speeds. I would not assume that this will be the case. I'm not saying you're wrong to go for it, but I wouldn't assume that you'll be able to upgrade the RAM enormously.

That's true, but that is the risk I'm taking I suppose - thanks a lot for the advice.

Was there anything wrong with the advice given?

No, advice was really good and went with most of it for the build. Just wanted to see if any one would make any last minute changes to it, thanks.

With this sort of budget I would recommend again having a 500GB gen 4 primary drive, either the 980 pro or the Firecuda 530 for OS and programs.
You can drop the arctic paste as the paste that comes with the corsair cooler is better, and you can drop the sound card as onboard audio on the motherboard is really good quality.

The sound card is a waste of your money. The thermal paste is a (small) waste of your money. You're not getting the fastest/most optimal storage solution. The 3090 is massive overkill, but hey it's your money. And I'd definitely spend at least £5 on an extended warranty at your budget point!

So basically I'd just recommend the build @MrWilson suggested above (though I can see why you'd splurge on the LCD CPU cooler and the sleeved cables for aesthetics.)

Great, thanks a lot for the advice - I will go ahead and add the drive and drop the paste, cheers.

Sounds good to drop the sound card, I can do that and extend the warranty. Thanks so much for all the help guys.
