No, no, I wouldn’t do that.
Just been looking on Amazon. A replacement fan would only cost about £20. I might get one from there if I have to. I’ll wait see what PCS say first. If I don’t hear from them by mid-week I’ll give them a call.
Oddly, the fan has been behaving itself today. A...
Hi
No, it's not one of the three front fans, but rather one of the fans that lay directly beneath the top of the case.
I played with the fan settings in BIOS but it did nothing, which suggest to me they are controlled by something other than the BIOS. I tried turbo mode and stopping the fan...
Eek. I managed to remove the fourth screw using, as per your suggestion, a screwdriver bit.
I was hoping there’d be a cable plug that I can use to disconnect the fan. Alas no. The wire seems to be hardwired into the fan. Leading away from the fan the cable disappears into the back of the...
Yes I think you could be right. The noise has become so loud now that I’ve had to turn the PC off.
I tried seeing if I could turn the fan off but could see now way of doing it. I tried the Armoury software but all that does is show one of the six or so fans, and according to the app than fan...
Hi
I have had my PC since May this year.
All has been well until this morning when one of my fans has started to make an awful noise. It also keeps starting and stopping.
I thought there might be something against the fan and so I opened the PC up and tried to remove the fan. I could not get...
I dug out the antennae from the box I had stored away. I attached it and tried again, and what do you know. It worked.
Why is it that sometimes the simplest fixes are often overlooked? 🤣
Thank you Scott & Spyder.
That is the whole build in my original post. I just didn't include things like case/software.
Looking at the configure gaming PCs page on the PCS website, it would appear there are no options for Bluetooth, which is probably why I assumed it was built into the Motherboard, or a dongle would be...
Hi
I know this is probably a stupid question, but should I have received a Bluetooth dongle with my PC build?
I ask as I am trying to pair a wireless XBox controller to my PC. I have turned on Bluetooth on my PC and pressed the pair button with the controller, but nothing is found.
Having...
Gosh, that is news to me. I will try it, though if I am honest with you I think I'll always be paranoid that it's letting stuff creep into my computer, and that I'd probably go back to Norton even if Defender seem to do well.
Yeah, that told him. :ROFLMAO: ;)
I'm not saying any of those non-Norton ones I have tried were bad, though I must admit to not trusting Defender. I think it's because it's free so makes me think it's not as good as paid for ones, which I acknowledge is probably incorrect.
I think I recall...
Sorry Spyder but that's utter nonsense. I have tried various other virus packages such as Kaspersky, McAfee, Bitdefender and even Defender, and I see no issues with PC performance using Norton. I trust it fully and will continue to use it.
Have to disagree with the utter drivel above regarding Norton.
I have been using Norton since 2001. Never had an issue with it. In the early days it was bloaty. But nowadays it runs in the background of all my PCs and laptops and I don't even notice it. To my knowledge it has never allowed...
With the URBackup. There appear to be no options on where I want the back up saved. It appears to be internet/cloud based. I am wanting to back up from PC to external SSD.
I am looking at a program called SyncFolders. Did you originally put that link in your reply and then remove it? Or...
Hi Spyder
Many thanks for the advice.
I don't think Windows File History is what I am looking for. It doesn't seem to allow me to choose which folders I want backing up.
I received my new high-end gaming PC from PCS two days ago (specs in signature).
Wow, it is such a beautiful PC. It is my second desktop purchased from PCS over the years, and my fourth purchase from them in my life time (the first two purchases being laptops).
This new PC is so quiet even...
Hi
For those of you who play FS2020 you'll know that the "packages" folder that houses the Community and Official sub-folders, where dlc are stored can become very large.
I like to make back ups of these folders for restoring if I have to re-install the game. So much quicker than having to...
