It's always worth mentioning your budget, then the guys know exactly what they are playing with. Your initial build was £3.6k, so @SpyderTracks has already saved you £1k with his build. I dont imagine @Scott is trying to bankrupt you!
What do you want the system to do?? Is this for a professional build or something else? What monitors are you planning on pairing with this? Resolution wise
If you plan to game away from the mains then you probably wont get a great experience, the laptop will try and conserve power by turning everything down. There are options though, through windows and via other software but you need to understand this will have a knock on effect of your battery...
Ok hang on,
So the laptop wont turn on when it's on battery power alone = Dead battery backed up by HWMonitor info @ 96% wear rate. Just checking that the machine is 100% running fine when powered by the mains? Sure you've said that it doesnt work with the battery removed?
You should be able...
Have you got HWMonitor installed, it can give you some basic battery health info but it sounds like the battery is deeeeeead. Will the laptop boot at all with the mains disconnected?
7 years life for a battery isnt bad at all tbh
Cant do those type of games... Mrs bought me one for xmas (cant remember the title, didnt own for that long) and within 30 seconds I had some lunatic chasing me with a chainsaw. Screamed like a little girl and binned it!
My Little Pony, much safer
If you are wanting to go down the VR route, deffo wait for one of the MODs to double check your rig. If you get it wrong then you will be throwing up, not sure if it's motion sickness or what but some people get ill when the GPU isnt powerful enough to display the correct FPS.
Dont get me...
Thats what I have and it's "OK", it does the job but it's a budget (I've got the xbox/PC version). I've found it on Argos but the closest store to me is Chatham in Kent... I live in Plymouth so if I needed one it's a bit of a trek lol
Litterally joysticks are flying out of the stores as I...
I guess it's an educational thing?? Maybe have a warning pop up, advising that if they install a HDD as the OS drive they should expect some sort of performance impact over a SDD. Not advocating removing their choice of drives at all
If you could setup the RGB to change with the music or when you are Pew Pewing (been playing Star Wars Squadrons non stop so you'll have to excuse me 🤣), then i would seriously look at a fancy day glo/Fresh Prince rig but not sure if the Mrs would be too keen!!
I completely agree with what you've said @ubuysa , however the slight snag is, I'd bet there's a large percentage of PCS customers that don't know or use the forums until their's an issue with their rig.
I know I made bad choices before arriving here!
