Just had a thought, not being a Win 10 user, will I have issues when I switch the card from 1080 to 3080. As I believe win10 is more hardware activation now.
Thanks, this is one of the changes I made (not shown above) 2 x m.2 drives - 500gb fast thing for windows and the 2tb one shown for games. also a 1000w PSU as well, and they have increased the cooler to the better one as well.
Change to Corsair H115i RGB PRO XT Hydro Series High Performance CPU...
Thanks, thought that might be the case. At least I could set it up and start installing some games. In my old pc the 1080 was the best component, but once I get a new mobo for that the 1080 can go back in it.
Good to know about the PSU, was also more of a concern about stock levels too. -- Just...
Hi all
Like many I'm waiting for a new build with 5900x and a 3080 card. My old gaming machine MoBo died last November, so I'm on an even older machine for the time being. I recently got an email from PCS about the GPU stock state, and being delayed up to around March and beyond date. At the...
On my 8 year old motherboard it was a plastic jumper you moved from pin 1+2 to 2+3 then back again... Good to hear they have improved this with a button on some boards :)
The battery is a CR2032, and looks like this, it will be on the motherboard somewhere, you can't miss it. take out the battery for about 4-5 minutes, then replace. this will reset the CMOS data. Becareful not to get your fingers on the underside of it though when you remove it.
Thanks for the update etc... One thing I would suggest, though might be a little late now is the AIO cooling - the picture showing it at the front with the pipes at the top, this is basically wrong, you want the pipes at the bottom.
The reason for this is because Air rises and with the pipes at...
Agree, you want a Cat 5e, Cat 6 cable - as mentioned cat 5 (no e) is old and only up to 100 in speed. if you're buying new, I'd go with cat 6 at least now.
Thanks for posting this!
Just to confirm I too received this and not sure what to do yet -- I'm on about 37 days - ordered around 28th Nov. I have my old 1080 card from my dead pc... but TBH think I'm happy to wait as I don't know about the other items on the order (e.g. 5900x).
Keeping my...
If you do take up their kind offer of free advice (which you should, what harm can it do?, your free to ignore it.). Then I suggest when you post the spec, post more info about things like.
Budget amount
What monitor(s) you are using (if already have them)
What use do you plan on the PC, e.g...
At the moment you shouldn't be signing for anything due to covid. Parcels I have received they insisted that they put it at the door and take a photo of it. (I got a work laptop delivered just a couple of days ago and thats what they did... the smaller odds n sods they just don't though.
No problem, you're welcome, happy to help the problem comes back. We had someone else with a similar noise issue, we finally tracked it down to the PSU fan, and he got a video of it, which was helpful for PCS staff to confirm PSU issue.
Keep an eye on it, I know it's worrying when you get a...
If possible try and open the side, and in a quite room "listen" for where the sound is, try and pin point it, back fans, PSU, CPU, GPU fans, front fans
Does the sound happen when your just "sat doing nothing" / browsing web.
You have a HDD, maybe if you can't work out where the sound is coming...
I agree with @SpyderTracks , think about how quick you need the PC. My main gaming PC motherboard died last november, it was about 8 years old (i7-4470 / 1080 gpu) - I was planning on getting a new one anyway and just had my 50th birthday so was planning a treat, but was waiting until after...
I ordered the same 2 towards end of Nov about 35 days I think now. As mentioned they are already fairly large threads regarding these. but basically some are on 60 days waiting at the moment. I get the impression they are doing builds for the orders that came in early Oct. So hopefully by end...
Great idea / offer, I would love to say yes to this as I have all the others, but it didn't run on my win 8 machine (dx 12 only) but I will be getting it with my new PC so don't need, but thanks for the offer :)
No problem, only time I use laptop is for work, so when we started working from home with limited desk space (and I get RSI/Gout in my wrists using laptop keyboards) I told my manager I needed a switch box, that is the one I picked.
I don't use both laptop and desktop at the same time, I finish...
Yes the nagga trinity does have a lot of buttons, 12 on the side is just too much and no where to rest your thumb, I have both the 6 and new 7 button version and thumb sits just nice in the middle.
Keep us posted on the keyboard and your thoughts on it ;)
