It's amazing how people seem to be told completely different things depending on who they are speaking to.
My order is actually older than yours (5900X no gpu system ordered 5th Nov 2pm, amended to 6800XT on 18th Nov 2pm).
The guy on the phone today told me I was one of the oldest orders they...
Just got off live-chat and they had 0 information on the new CPUs or GPUs regarding stock levels, etc.
I was told I probably have another 1-2 months wait.
For reference I ordered a 5900X system with no GPU on 5th November (launch day at 2pm), and amended the GPU to a 6800XT on the 18th November...
Oh okay, to be honest I'm not sure how it works, whether they 'allocate' anything to your order or not. I was under the impression that no components are allocated to your order, it just goes into building when it's your turn in the build queue and all components are in.
Well just went to amend my order to see what was in stock and I now have 3 items on pre-order
The 1000W RMx is now on pre-order, after I was already told by PCS at end of november to change the 850W RMx as it was no longer in stock.
Now I don't know whether I should change it again...
Primarily gaming.
I'm sure the 5600X would be more than enough for now but I really want my CPU to be future-proof for the next 5+ years and I don't think a 6-core is going to cut it (even the consoles are 8-core).
I want the CPU to still be good if I upgrade the graphics card in 2-3 years.
Guess that answers my question in this thread:

Orders with 2 pre-order items are in for a seriously long wait, unless they get very lucky and both pre-order items come into stock at the same time!
I have a question if you don't mind about prioritising the older orders that have an AMD 5000 series CPU with one of the new GPUs (AMD RX 6000 series or Nvidia RTX 30 series).
Since it is unlikely that both of these (CPU + GPU combo) would be in stock at the same time, are you "allocating" a...
Interesting.. that does look just like the reference card.
You're right, the XFX merc 319 does have an overclock and upgraded cooler and is considerably longer than the reference design.
One person here did receive the merc 319 6800 XT but I haven't seen anyone receive it for the 6900 XT (they...
30 6800 XT's since launch, yikes. Not looking too good for us waiting on it!
What model 6900 XT did you get by the way, was it the reference AMD card, or a partner model?
Good luck with that, if your budget can stretch to the 3090 then that is another option.
6900 XT may come back in stock soon as well, who knows. It has much less demand than the 6800 XT.
I know it can be frustrating the way the PCS queuing system works, but at least you can amend your order again any time and it won't effect your overall queue position (they go by original order date).
What CPU are you getting by the way? If it is a Zen 3 CPU you might be waiting a while too...
It's about a 6% performance increase on average, for 35% higher price - absolutely not worth the extra money!
The only reason I would switch to it is if the 6800 XT was out of stock and everything else in my build was in stock (including 5900X), so my order would finally go into building.
