My previous computer had a 120GB SSD and I could deal with it so I think I will do this 🙂
250GB M.2 EVO for OS and softwares
1TB M.2 PCS for games and cache files
1TB HDD for storage (is it worth taking a 7200rpm for 19£ more ?)

To be honest we have dedicated machines at work to do our job. I do not consider buying this one for high end VFX work but mostly gaming and personal projects in softwares like Maya. I'am an animator and...
Here it is. I was thinking of swapping to a 1TB of lower performance SSD because the samsung EVO is quite expensive above 500GB. ANd also maybe a 7200rpm instead of the 5400rpm HDD.

My budget is around 1600£-1700£. It's mostly for gaming but as a VFX artist I also use 3D softwares for personal work sometimes outside of the company. I will be in London for an other year and therefore don't have much space. I travel between countries for work but I don't really need to work...
Probably right :) But it will not come with high end graphic cards any time soon apparently. That's why I've ordered a new Nova laptop because it's the only way to have a RTX 2070 with AMD CPU at the moment. Maybe it will change by the end of the year when the new rtx 3000 series comes out but...
Thermal tests are available online for the Eluktronics Max-17 and it's quite hot under load. As expected it reaches 90+
I think it's simply impossible to have a 20mm laptop with a cooling system capable of cooling 8 cores properly.
I've asked them and here is what they answered. The Nova laptop uses its own unique thermal compound solution given its configuration, along with the Octane series laptops due to them using desktop grade components in a small chassis.
I think it's time for me to order mine!

Thank you for your answers. I'm actually thinking about the Nova now. It seems like a really good machine as well. Do you think the thermals will be better despite the Desktop CPU ? Arent the temp limits lower for desktop processors ?
Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of buying this laptop. I'm not sure yet if I take the 15,6" or the 17,3" but the Vyper seems to be my first choice.
I'm really not sure if I wait until end of July for the new AMD 4000 series to arrive (That's what PCS told me).
An other thing I'm concerned is the...
Hi everyone,
I'm new here and I'm trying to find the perfect gaming laptop for my needs.
First, I'm trying to decide which case I will use as I want a thin and mostly non plastic one.
When aluminium or magnesium chassis is not mentioned, does that mean it is full plastic ? For example the...
