PCSPECIALIST Noisy CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 pump & rad on case roof

It seems it is in the AIO cooler block that is sealed. Hopefully PSC will send a replacement part and I can swap it to save the hassle of sending the whole PC back.

    PCSPECIALIST New Music PC

I've not come across fTPM, thanks, I just checked and the X570-PLUS motherboard I have appear to support that, it just needs the setting updated in the BIOS to make it use the firmware TPM not discreet TPM.

    PCSPECIALIST New Music PC

Hi, a couple things for the post, people will ask for the spec to include the configuration link so people can easily adjust the spec, the sticky threads in the forum explain how. Then the other key things are: budget, purposes and monitor (i.e. if you have one or what you plan to buy). The...

PCSPECIALIST Noisy CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 pump & rad on case roof

I realised I should have included the spec for my PC, included in this post. I had wondered about the liquid cooler when I got the PC but that was the general suggestion received on the forum but looking again, it seems opinions are maybe not so 100% certain one way or the other. I tried...

PCSPECIALIST Noisy CoolerMaster MasterLiquid Lite 240 pump & rad on case roof

Hi, I received my system Mar-2021, it's been running fine, though I've not used it as much as I would have liked but that's not the PC's fault. A couple days ago I had been on the PC for a couple hours then noticed a fairly loud fan tapping sort of noise. It's continuous and not very fast...

    PCSPECIALIST Computer set up

No problem, it is certainly easier to do the troubleshooting in person. I had already typed up most of a post so I will still include the rest :). Good luck with it, hopefully you get it sorted soon. I realised I didn't ask about the GPU ports on the PC. I ordered my PC from PCS and received...

    PCSPECIALIST Computer set up

I looked online got the GPU AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT and it does appear to have an 8-pin PCI power connector. If you look on Google and search for "pci express power adapter" and look at the image results, do they look like the wire you have? Is the wire loose from the box or is it connected to...

    PCSPECIALIST Computer set up

I should have asked, can you provide a link to your spec please. I think if you look in your account on the https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/ website there is a link somewhere to copy it. I wonder if it's the graphics card is not connected correctly for some reason.

    PCSPECIALIST Computer set up

I'm sure more experienced members might reply soon but some things I would try if possible: Connect the monitor to another computer or laptop to check it works. I assume you have a keyboard and mouse connected even though you have not mentioned it Do you see any LEDs lit up on the motherboard...

    PCSPECIALIST Anti Virus/Maleware Software Recommendations

This is the most recent thread generally about anti virus/malware and the advice is clear so I thought I'd reply to it instead of creating a new thread. I am quite happy to take the advice of using Windows Defender in Windows 10. I might go for installing Malwarebytes from...

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

Thanks for the advice, I've just submitted my order as below. I chose to go for the semi-modular power supply instead of waiting for stock to come back in. Basically I wanted to get this ordered and get into the queue :). Case CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Processor (CPU)...

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

I chose to get the two 60hz 1440p monitors, more for the better productivity of having dual monitors than use for gaming. I only recently purchased though. I see a lot of talk online about the refresh rate of monitors for gaming. I do not plan on replacing the monitors with higher refresh...

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

thanks, I see the point in paying the extra. I'm sure it is probably better for components like the CPU and GPU to not be fully maxed out on capacity for hours on end. And I assume it's going to make the system last longer before it needs an upgrade.

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

Thanks for the replies so far. I probably would like to go up to the higher Ryzen 5 processor and it sounds fine to up the power supply. The extra RAM would be nice for various things plus I do use virtual machines sometimes for running Linux. I don't think I would need to go up to the NVIDIA...

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

I forgot one question: What affect does the number of RAM slots used have? is it better to have 1 x 16 GB RAM or 2 x 8 GB? or doesn't it matter if you are not using all slots?

PCSPECIALIST Advice please on spec for photo editing, coding and a bit of gaming

I would be grateful for some advice please, there are a couple of points I am unsure about, the main ones are: Is the Ryzen 5 3600X good enough or should I go up to a Ryzen 7? Does the graphics card ( NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 Ti always come a DisplayPort that supports daisy chaining /...

    PCSPECIALIST Video editing new desktop

I don't think those temperatures are that bad, my laptop is often over 70 C and I've seen over 80 C sometimes, the CPU is i7-4700MQ @ 2.4 GHz and I have 12 GB RAM. It's running at about 55 C to 60 C now and I only have Chrome, Spotify and Evernote open besides a couple other smaller apps...

    PCSPECIALIST Poor selection of cases

It seems it is changing, there is one Be Quiet case showing now. There are 7 Corsair cases available ranging from £44 to £175. Are they really unpopular or they just happened to get a large delivery of them or had a lot of existing stock? I imagine we will probably never know if it's the...

    PCSPECIALIST Video editing new desktop

Hi @RossGarner399, I am looking at maybe a similar spec PC to you, I know you will be asked, what is your max budget for price? That spec comes in at £1,096.00 inc. VAT. Do you do any photos editing or is it only video edit? For my it would be mostly photo work with Adobe Lightroom and...
