    PCSPECIALIST is it worth upgrading?

Could always try a 240mm AIO on the CPU and see what you can clock it up to as long as the mainboard allows 'tuning'. Also, run a mild undervolt on it, 8th gen's like a -100mv undervolt for the most part, that might get you a few more CPU cycles through (as should mainting it's clock for...

    PCSPECIALIST 1st PC build

Just that for the price of the CPU/GPU difference (300ish or so) it be worth it to buy a new SSD later on and install it alongside/replace when you need it.

    PCSPECIALIST 1st PC build

Have a look at this one https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/configure-review/348/ it's on offer at the moment and pretty much the sameish spec, board ram, but has better CPU and GPU and slightly smaller SSD for the same money....

    PCSPECIALIST Liquid or not

For the most part, then it will be an aesthetic or acoustic based decision for you. If you like RGB and are going to put it in a clear sided case, then water cooling will look cool. If enclosed case you can't see, then I'd save the money and go air, or perhaps AIO on the CPU as a half and half...

    PCSPECIALIST Help - processor query

No that's the all-core clocks, specs of that proc are base 1.6ghz TDP Frequency 2.1Ghz Single core boost 4.2ghz Depending on the motherboard maker your TDP frequency is quiete possibly 2.4ghz as it's not unheard of of Intel boards to have mild factory overclocks on them, this just means the...

PCSPECIALIST Need advice please! PC of budget around £2000

I've had Intel since 8088! yeah a good old 4.77mhz (yes MEGA hertz), but dabbled with AMD when they were on their upstrokes (K6 and the likes), at the moment they are the better processor, no ifs and buts about it, it's not worth hurting your own pocket to get an inferior product just because of...

PCSPECIALIST Suggested Thunderbolt Dock for my new Vyper

You can usually get a TB16 on ebay for 40-80 quid depending on the charger that comes with it (and you need one!) just remember USB-C PD is only 60w via the TB dock unless you are using a Dell laptop where it will give you 115w

PCSPECIALIST Suggested Thunderbolt Dock for my new Vyper

I've got both a TB15 and TB16, both great, although you wont want to travel with them! they are huge. For travel I tend to use a USB-C one with SDXC/SD/mSD/Type-C/USB3.1x3/HDMI and that tends to get me by, I take a HDMI cable with me that can go into the Hotel TV if it comes to me needing a...

PCSPECIALIST Does PCS provide bios updates or other software updates to fix issues arising?

Fair dinkum, was just curious was all. As long as I can keep it upto date I'm not really bothered if I have to let them know/ask for the rom

PCSPECIALIST does the PSU work for this ?

Oh meant to say, the peak number psu suppliers use is just that peak, and not designed to run close to it for any length of time, just thought I'd say.

PCSPECIALIST does the PSU work for this ?

Gpu = 225w Cpu = 150w Vrm board = 14w Ancilary usb/lights/drives/etc = 30w (peak all usb used) Total = 419w So technically in spec, but very little headroom for upgrades, and power supplies run warmer the closer they are to peak limits.

    PCSPECIALIST Liquid or not

Liquid is quieter, and sometimes (not always) cooler. If interested have a look at some of the videos on cooling over on gamers nexus (YouTube) Air is usually able to cool as well as liquid, but liquid looks cooler (personal opinion) and almost always quieter than forced air cooling.

PCSPECIALIST first actual gaming pc lol £550 pound budget

Seems decent for the price, I'd skip bull guard and use the Microsoft supplied windows defender. And if your planning on using WiFi I'd plump up for the updated card, 300n isn't upto the task of playing anything modern online to be honest. Pay the couple quid for silver warranty, and if I was...

PCSPECIALIST Does PCS provide bios updates or other software updates to fix issues arising?

Fair enough, just was genuinely curious, just because what I do I have to make sure I've got the latest microcode for proc and the likes, and was wondering if it would effect it was all. Cheers chap

PCSPECIALIST Need advice please! PC of budget around £2000

I'll be honest I'd be inclined to go AMD for this if I was you, the extremely small (0.1 and 1% lows) benefit that Intel has isn't worth the Intel Tax, and 99.999% of users will never notice it, after all for 144hz refresh you need 6.9ms frame times, and if you skip one frame every multiple ten...
