Order scheduled to be built on the 15th. That's much faster than I was expecting. Not sure if that means if people are holding off until the 17th or their service is lightening fast. Probably a bit of both
Hopefully it's not 1 min after release. Stress levels will be through the roof. The guy on chat did say they've got a "good few" so fingers crossed they last a little longer
I've already ordered my build with the assumption I can amend the order on the 17th. The URL on the amend page is exactly the same as the normal build page so they should go live at exactly the same time (fingers crossed).
If that doesn't work I'll have to locate a gpu from a 3rd party....
I tried doing this but PCS told me that it's first come first serve when the cards go live on the 17th. You can order the rest of the system but you can't pre-order the 3080 yet
From reading the pre-production days thread they've been building pc's a lot faster than the 12-15 working days. Worried that the order would be ready before the new cards have actually been released.
Edit* Perhaps I'll wait until this Thursday.
Debating whether to place an order with all the rest of the PC parts and append the 3080 when it releases. The fact they're allowing reviews 3 days before launch is making me optimistic they're very confident with their product.
Hopefully because PC Specialist are a partner they've got decent stock. The prices are so much better than I was expecting. You're all buying the 3070 right? right!? ;)
Machine learning, with some data analysis in Python notebooks. 90% of what I'll be doing is gaming so was basically wondering if the extra cash was worth the extra performance
Out of curiosity I've been reading into the 3950x. Is it worth the upgrade over the 3900x? I'll also be doing some ml work as well as gaming if that matters to the performance.
Based on what I just witnessed, the 3080 for $699 (£700 equivalent?) seems perfect. Does anyone know when PC Specialist will put pre-orders up? (I saw it releases on the 17th but I'm not sure if you'll be able to pre-order earlier)
Cheers, I'll add that motherboard to the list. What in particular makes it worth the cash?
I've read all the same conflicting reports regarding the 3090. Some leaks saying it's a titan replacement. Some saying differently. Others think that Nvida are waiting for AMD's new cards before releasing...
