P.S. The case is a Fractal Meshify C. At some point I want to move the stock front fan to rear top exhaust. And add 2 Noctua AF14's to the front. I've already got the fans, but have not attempted the installation yet, and looking at how tight the cable management it could be tricky as I can't...
Hello. Thanks for the update. Fortunately I have not tried to do anything yet, but it is good to know that PCS will help if required.:)
So my BIOS is version 0243, which from the Asus website, was published on 20th May 2020.
The latest version on the Asus website here is 0805, and was...
So I want to upgrade my BIOS. And the Asus website says that I need to use a tool called BiosRenamer to rename the bios download.
Only I can't find the BIOSRenamer tool. And if it's available, it probably isn't for Linux anyway.
So I want to contact Asus technical support. Only that they...
Hi Spydertracks,
Thanks for your response, and all the advice you've given. I did some reading overnight, and have a feeling that the behaviour is standard for Ryzen CPUs. So I'll need to try to adjust my fan curve to make it less annoying!
Overall, I was impressed by how tidy the inside of...
It's a new machine from PCS. I received it yesterday.
The CPU shouldn't be doing anything in the background, as the top chart in the attachment shows that it s idle.
My Ryzen 3950x's temperatures are fluctuating from 38C to 60C when the CPU is idle.
This screenshot shows how the CPU has been idle, while the temps have fluctuated.
What is causing this? And how can I stop it?
It is quite annoying as it causes the heatsink fan to keep changing speed.
I have...
Thanks. I managed to fix it over my lunch break.
For anyone else who sees this, I initially had this error:
Check old driver and unload it.
Build the module and install
At main.c:160:

By "you need an email to receive the download link", do you mean I need to email the link to myself, before it will work?
There are numerous download urls in the first URL that you posted. Is the one that I need, the one with description "2.5G Ethernet LINUX driver r8125 for kernel up to 5.6" ?
I received my new PCS machine yesterday.
It has (sorry, but I can't seem to find post spec to forums for my completed order):
- 3950X CPU
- Asus TUF B550
- Noctua U14S CPU cooler
- Meshify C case.
I have installed Ubunto 20.04 on it.
The Noctua fans have a reputation for being quiet. Or if...
I received my new PC after a wait of just under a month.
I installed Ubuntu 20.04 on the machine. It has an Asus TUF B550 motherboard.
When I plug in the network cable, my home network is not getting detected. The cable is working on another machine, and LEDs flash next to the network port...
Thanks for sharing your stories. It seems that enthusiast websites recommend around every 3-6 months, but people rarely do that in reality. I'm not quite an enthusiast, but definitely want my computers to run more quietly. I've just ordered a Compucleaner XPert. Hopefully that will do the trick...
My computer is finally being built after a 1 month wait. I'm wondering, how often do users tend to open and clean their computers? I don't want it to get clogged up and die, which is what has happened to my existing computer.
Noctua thinks it should be good enough:

I have not tried it myself, but have ordered a 3950X with it and will see what happens.
Hi Keith, thanks for your concern. Hopefully my research below will be useful to other people looking at similar builds. Please do let me know if you think I need to be concerned about anything, as I do want the machine to be reliable...
MOBO:
Reviews on B550 boards are few, but this one (I...
