I must admit I downloaded all 5 Iplayer BBC "storyville" episodes about O J Simpson over the weekend and watched all in a single sitting. Totally absorbing story about a deeply flawed individual. If anyone's looking to spend 8 odd hours in front of their telly, I'd highly recommend it.
I'll...
I often feel left out having no issues after upgrading Windows. Sometimes a bit of carnage is good for the soul...sometimes.
I've only ever had one issue on one PC upgrading Windows [Yeah that one..;) ], but every time I do it my knees are a tremblin'
3 of my PC's now "updated" to 2004, without any issues whatsoever...so far. I don't know if it's just me but I am finding this new version a little more responsive than 1909. Let's hope my good luck continues. I've got disk images of the last 1909 build backed up just incase...well you know...
I always use a VPN service. Have done for 5 years now. It gives me a better sense of privacy. Maybe a slight placebo effect..but I do feel more secure.
I started with Private Internet Access, but moved to Nordvpn a few years ago. I did a 3 year deal for £75 [ish]. The speed is very good...
Just thought I'd issue an update on the PC. It has performed without issue for the 8 last months, flawlessly actually. I had one Windows 10 culmative update trash the system, but hey, that's to be expected every now and then.
Real luxury feel to this thing.
Take care all, and thanks again PCS

I want to monitor what is coming in and out and block/allow etc. Windows firewall aint very user friendly...
UPDATE. I've installed "Evorim free firewall". Just what I need.
^ Yup, good point. Tinywall added an extra scale of usability to the built in windows firewall. IE it was a doddle to setup new rules etc.
I did have a brief look at setting rules in the built in firewall, but I got confused. Maybe some further trials are required.
I've updated, not fresh installed, one of my PC's [Lenovo tiny I5 6600T] to 1903. All went well apart from one minor thing. 1903 has basically killed of the last remnants of useage of my trusted fireall "Tinywall", which is used in conjunction with the existing windows firewall. I did have real...
This just popped up in my update screen. I must admit it's nice to be given the option for a change.
Just a thow out here, would it now be safe to upgrade ? I've read a lot of horror stories recently.
For the record I've never had a problem, to the best of my knowledge, with a Windows 10...
@SpyderTracks
Good to hear that you're off to the boot sales to get vinyl. It is a relative gold mine. Most vinyl hunters are usually only after rare stuff at boot sales [for re-sale], so you stand a good chance at finding some stuff for personal use. I wish you all the luck, be patient. It...
Well, I've been up for most of the night testing this new PC out. The error 41 issue that I had, caused by encoding, has now gone completely. It is absolutely smashing its way through any task that is thrown at it. The machine is superb, for my needs.
I would like to take this opportunity to...
@ubuysa
YUP.
Original ring main is a Legrand B16 [16A], one that tripped on the new setup is a Legrand B20 [20A]
I've now switched back to the 16A circuit, which has a freezer, tv, dvd player, all the PC stuff. Everything I have that isnt used is switched OFF when not in use on that...
The PC just tripped the ring main circuit breaker in my house. I actually used a different ring main to connect to...unbelievable.
I just disabled "Fast startup" in windows settings, that's the only thing I've done to alter anything on the PC. I can't believe that's what's triggered it. I'm...
New PC has arrived, safe & sound. Package arrived bang in the middle of the window I was given. Many thanks PCS for getting this out to me so quickly. Your effort is much appreciated !
PC package as it arrived, loaded on back of van.
Packaging inside house :-
Well packed inside crate. PC...
@SpyderTracks
Yes indeedy. I'm not sure if you're an early bird but it may be worth you trekking around local boot sales, that's unless you already do it, for vinyl. I see a TON of it every week. Bargains can be had, and gambles can be taken.
I did an apprenticeship in Chelmsford, problem was...
@SpyderTracks Many thanks for that message. I'm sure it will turn out ok. I will be in the back of the DPD van as it arrives, just to look over the obvious etc.
One thing for sure though. IF I had bought this PC from anywhere else,I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have got this level of support.
@Oussebon . PCS decided to advance build an entire new PC while the old one was being sent back. I've been updated on that build over the last few days. Customer service has been outstanding to be perfectly honest.
