Just to confirm, when my damaged PC was picked up by DPD I receieved no notification as to whether the package would be picked up that day. No emails, no texts at all.
I had to stay in all day and hope that they would arrive. Luckily they did.
PS My RMA entry in my account did state the date...
Ah record decks, I remember those.
Back in 89 I bought a Linn Sondek [black ash]/Ittok/Troika with Linn LK1/LK2 Pre/power amp set up and it literally blew CD off the planet. The turntable was mounted on a tripod skyline platform, which I've still got. I sold the turntable approx 8-9 years ago...
@ubuysa
Cheers. I've calmed down a bit since discovering the mess. Alas when I phoned up PCS this afternoon to report the incident I did vent a little.
This PC, when it's working right will see me through a good few years hopefully.
I think I know what happened here, but I can't say it on this...
@Oussebon
I don't think that's a possibility. The side panel would be the first point of contact of a drop impact, in that specific area, yet it is completely untouched. These side panels are thin gauge, probably 18swg [1.2mm]. The plastic retaining pegs of the side panel are still intact...
I wasn't going to do this tonight, but I had to.
I've opened up the case to inspect the damage. There is an impact to the rear left hand side of the PC Approx half way up. The image below shows said impact. This impact has deformed the metalwork below the motherboard. This deformation has...
I appreciate your comments here @Oussebon . I have 2 of my own, existing hard drives, in that case. I don't think this impact has done them any good whatsoever.
I got the PC back today. The case was damaged in transit OR at the factory.
Well, from bad to even worse. I went out to greet the courier, so as to help him carry the heavy box to my house. The box shows no sign of it being dropped apart from a very minor corner knock. The box was actually half...
"It is heartening however to see that PCS replaced your SSD 'just in case'. "
Indeed. Let's hope they securely erase the original one before sending it back to Samsung..
I was updated yesterday via a "Fault Report"
It is heartening for me to be informed that PC Specialists also experienced the BSOD/Crashing issue on the PC.
The USB issue really was driving me nuts also. I updated the chipset drivers, from the Gigabyte site [V18.50.16.01]. Symptoms were that...
Hi @ubuysa
Just an update. I've just heard back from PCS and they've decided to change the CPU/Motherboard/PSU. They are also going to change out the 1tb 860 QVO SSD.
Pretty much fantastic customer service really. I really couldn't ask for more. Just outstanding
