Yeah I think you're right but the point still stands that a laptop surely shouldn't be completely bust after less than 3 years with the care that I've treated it with...that seems like daylight robbery.
Ok, so let me start off by saying I had nothing but good things to say about PCS until the last 2 months
I've been waiting for my RMA since sending away my laptop 2 months ago. Had one email a few weeks ago stating that they were getting to it. I understand that's a time and resource issue and...
To the original poster...I finally received correspondence today, roughly 2 months from sending my laptop away.
To say I'm seething is an understatement and the timescales are just a tiny bit of the problem. I'll post in the forum what was sent and see if anyone has some feedback.
Essentially...
What worries me here is that I sent my laptop back with a relatively small repair needed on 7th March (they received it on 10th March) and I've still not heard a peep yet you've got yours back already...so if it were a queue system you'd have thought I'd at least have had some correspondence 😔...
I can totally understand you're frustration and worries right now. I've only had the correspondence that they had received my laptop and it's now been with them for 20 working days (18 because of bank holidays) with no correspondence since .
My laptop has the exact same problem. I think the...
Sorry that's the after effect of not being able to charge using the port correctly, because it stops charging whilst heavy gaming and it struggles with no power source and eventually turns off, however when I manage to find an angle with he port , it goes back to handling the gaming just fine...
So I've discovered the problem! Unfortunately I'm not sure how to fix it! Basically after getting a new battery and charger and replacing the thermal paste again I've discovered that it is in fact the charging port that isn't working correctly. It only charges at certain angles and I'm not sure...
I haven't done anything to it since the SSD was installed over a year ago...so I'll try this thanks! Even though I don't have a clue what I'm doing with this, I'll youtube it haha
So my laptop has recently been turning itself off whilst I've been gaming. I realise this is most likely an overheating issue but I'm not sure what the best course of action is to fix this? I had opened the laptop up and tried to get as much air into the fans and blow out any dust etc where...
Appreciate the help. Unfortunately none of these things worked, so I've decided to send it back to PC specialist and see if they can sort it out. Hopefully shoe whether my silver warranty package was worth it or not! 😅
Yeah the HDD has windows on it and installed. Don't know if it's worth removing the SSD and trying to start it up as normal again? Not sure if it's struggling to find the start up. I'm not entirely sure how to boot the install windows media...the only screen I can get to is the BIOS.

Originally Samsung magician and data migration. Then also tried it with EaseUS Todo backup. Both cloned the data the same but it still didn't show as a bootable drive in bios.
I've left my laptop on the black screen with the cursor for over 2 hours this time and something still hasn't...
Hi folks,
So I've encountered a pretty bad problem. When switched on my laptop has a black screen with the mouse cursor up, constantly flickering between the load circle symbol of windows. The only thing I can do is press F2 and enter the BIOS but even restoring defaults here it doesn't seem to...
Yeah I think it has about a week or 2 left...but I think the hassle of sending it back for a few weeks and paying postage etc for the sake of 1 screw probably isn't worth it 🤣
I think that's probably what I'll do! Try using a screw extracting tool and just buying a new screw for it. Not sure...
So I posted a few months back about my laptop being too slow and concluded that it was needing upgraded to an SSD to handle the performance correctly. (Spec below)
So I bought the 500GB 970 Evo plus NVMe M.2, checked that it was compatible with the laptop first of course.
Now the annoying...
Thanks for the reply, am I right in saying this would void the warranty though if I was to do it manually? Seems to be standard with most tech stuff these days!
Perfect, thanks very much for the quick replies folks! I'll try these things as soon as I'm back tonight.
In terms of a SSD, I'm not very tech savvy in terms of buying the correct specs (probably the reason for an HDD in the first place!).
Is there any easy way of getting one of these...
Hi folks,
So I bought a laptop through pc specialist just under 11 months ago and have been having a few issues and have a month left on the 1 year return warranty and so before returning it I was hoping for any advice/suggestions before I do. The problem isn't performance when I actually load...
