my machine is finally here! happy to say that everything is working so far, the box was quite ok after being in FedEx's hands for 2+ weeks, but all connections seemed to be in place (I checked anyway), no issues starting up, cable management is spot on, fans working correctly, the only bad is...
wow yeah, suddenly after my 88 day wait everyone's gone even further to 90s, I feel like I jumped into the last train with good numbers. Currently still waiting for my machine to arrive (it's 4h drive away currently in the process of being cleared from customs). I wonder which card I got, i'll...
After waiting for 88 days for the machine to be sent off, now it's FedEx's turn to annoy me with the waiting. I wonder if their forum has a similar thread for people who ordered new PCs. Currently my rig finally reached Paris airport after a week of driving around Leeds and London, still a way...
that depends hugely on whether you're talking about standard 3080 or the strix 3080. Standard cards have been coming in slowly, while strix cards are unpredictable and can be out of stock for much longer periods before a delivery shows up
Mine was shipped out by FedEx this wednesday, today it turned up in the Netherlands, but FedEx gave me a "Shipment exception Delay beyond our control" warning, which I though was probably caused by entering EU and covid delays, but now it refreshed to say that it's picked up in Leeds at the...
it means that most likely the parts are physically allocated and just in queue for a free building slot, so it will be soon, could be tomorrow could be up to a few days from now
yeah i'd rather leave it for fedex, I live literally 1000 miles away from PCS site (if measured in a straight line, and more like 900, but whatever) haha. Hopefully they fly it in here instead of getting it stuck in the channel. I have no glass in my case, so i'm not too worried about transit
I don't even try to ask for any dates anymore, all i've been told by 2 people that I've emailed with is that i'm basically up there in the queue for building and it could be anytime this/next week, BUT they keep saying it's always an estimate and can take much shorter or longer. They're playing...
84th day, surely it's any hour now... I even upgraded my internet speed to triple of what I had before so I can download everything faster once it's here
update: I was told that in the middle of last week they were building 3080 machines from October 10th, so my build should be getting picked very soon too. Apparently there are people with 82 working days out there
To assist what Lukemondo is saying, this is what I got as an answer from Rhys on Jan 7th, when I asked about my order status and if they are really only assigning parts to builds when all of them are available at the same time:
Make what you will out of this, but I too, am not too happy with...
Sorry to say, but with that budget, you cannot realistically do all of those tasks. Your best bet now would be to save up for a bigger budget if you want your computer to be able to do everything smoothly and not run out of steam in 1-2 years. Also the specification will depend largely on the...
oh it's still going strong, it will have a superb finish, running 3440x1440 and 2x 1080p screens, all USB ports occupied, with cooler underneath running 24/7 too. Its soul will live on in the new machine as I salvage the m.2 from the insides once the time comes.
Mine was very specifically worded, to be exact:
Hopefully it gets sorted out during the weekend or the next week. It has been a long wait and my current work laptop is feeling uneasy on me, as if it knows that its time is running out
