Just to let you all know, PC specialist have confirmed that they are expecting a new batch of PSU's roughly mid October.
They will be Corsair RMX - ATX 3.1 in both 1000w and 850w.
I know there was a lot of posts suggesting a 1200w based purely on the fact it was ATX 3.1 and there wasn't a...
Thank you all for your suggestions. I am going to explore the suggestions and watch some videos before no doubt coming back with some more questions.
Much love!
Its a very difficult one to answer. Im looking for real guidance however most of the responses have been further questions. I am feeling quite overwhelmed.
I appreciate all the help of course, but responses such as "The graphic card is going to depend on the monitor" are less than helpful as I...
Okay - taking into account the comments and a bit more reading. I have came up with a new spec. Please see below.
This includes a monitor. How good a setup would this be for what I require? Is the cooling sufficient?
Case
FRACTAL POP SILENT CASE TG (WHITE)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D...
£150? Not sure how much monitors go for.
In an ideal world would be looking to spend in the region of £1500 all in for the rig and monitor if thats possible.
I want to be able to play some games on it. Warzone + new game Inzoi.
Very light video edit although not very often and only basic cut...
Okay - what would you consider the best low/mid range monitor for gaming? Then based on that, how would you recommend I proceed with the build based on the info I have givem.
I really need to be lead as I don't have enough knowledge to do some of this myself.
The main areas of unknown peril I am finding are
Cooling - no idea where to begin.
GPU - Is the graphic card chosen decent or are there better buys for the money? THe one in your linked guide isn't available in the drop down list.
What is the reasoning behind the power supply.
I am sure its good advice, but could you help me understand why I would need one so high when the PC specialist builder recommends a 550?
My monitor is literally a bog standard PC monitor. Not a gaming monitor. So whatever that is - 60fps probably.
I will look to buy a new monitor, but just a 1080p one will probably be fine. :)
I just need the computer to be able to run games smoothly and look decent.
Hi everyone,
I have bought a custom PC from PC Specialist many years ago. Gaming wise is was fine. I was able to play games for a number of years. As it became older and games became better I ended up having to play things on low settings. Now, I can barely play anything and it may be time for...
Hello,
I bought a custom build PC from PC Specialist some years ago. I am looking at getting a brand new build and want to sell my old system second hand to partially fund a bit of my new one.
Would anyone be able to help me understand the value of my old system if I were to try and sell it? I...
I don't know a lot about computers but most machines that are advertised have significantly less than 2TB.
I do appreciate the helpful and very insightful post though
In an ideal world it would be included in the budget but if it was not possible I would buy this separate.
I had 8gb but I ended up having to buy an upgrade this to 16gb in my own machine as it clearly wasnt enough
Correct - I need a high amount of storage
Hello,
I am looking at upgrading my existing system in 2021. I previously bought a PC Specialist custom build and it has done me well however it may be time for a change.
I currently play Warzone as my main game however I have to play with almost every setting on very low. I have been told...
Hi,
I have previously purchased a custom build desktop PC from PC Specialist and I have been very pleased with it.
I am now looking at another build, this time a laptop.
Here is my chosen spec
Chassis & Display
Optimus Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD 144Hz 72% NTSC LED Widescreen (1920x1080)...
Thanks for your reply.
Yes it is a PC specialist machine - I just added a bit more RAM to it.
I managed to get it working with some persistence and google searching prior to your reply.
Thanks for trying to help though!
