Cleaning...

Hey everyone. I was wondering what are the best options when it comes to the occasional dusting inside the machine to keep the fans free of dust so the components can cool properly and keep the machine working at it's best.

I have done a little research and it appears that the best option is compressed air cans. But I have also read some horror stories that sometimes liquid can come out of these cans and not just compressed air which would obviously be less than ideal even with the computer completely powered down and unplugged.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Yes, in my experience, compressed air cans can be a bit of a mine field and actually work out quite expensive over the long term.

I always recommend one of these, they're quite pricey but exceptionally good quality, and last forever. They make the job very quick and easy.

They do a premium version also which comes with some anti-electrostatic brushes, which I personally think is worth the extra if you've got it, athough I'm sure it used to be only £10 extra, I'd shop around and see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere:

You dont even need to get in there its so powerful you can clean your pc from other side of room ive cleaned my pc at least 9-10 times with it and a ps4 and a old n64 no issues with it whatsoever tho if you leave your pc dusty like I did get ready for the dust cloud itll produce

I like the sound of these air cleaners, and might invest in one to look after my new beast... At the moment every 6 months I open up our PCs and with cotton buds clean the fans... The case I have for my (now dead PC) did a good job at keeping the dust out in general, but we now have about 4 PCs in a house of 2 people (due to working from home now).

Thanks for the amazon links!
