Does this look damaged?

Hello,

So I purchased a PC for 2 and a half thousand last month. I had it for around a week before the ethernet port just stopped working. I sent the PC back for repair and after around 10 days they decided to do the obvious thing and replace the motherboard.

I have just received it back in the post. The packaging was shocking, there was no internal foam. The graphics card seems to be askew, and one of the plates inside seems bent while all of the others are straight. Is it damaged? Please see images.

If it is I'll be seeking a complete refund, the whole experience with this so far has been miserable.

From the looks of the first pic, it appears as though a couple of the cooling fins are slightly bent. It’s not ideal but I doubt that would have any effect on the actual performance of the GPU.

As for the second picture, it does look a little askew but the angle that the photo has been taken at doesn’t really help, is if possible to have a shot where you’re straight on, not looking upwards?

Sure. I'll do that shortly.

I've just plugged it in and turned it on. All of the LEDs are on apart from those on the GPU, which they were before I returned it. After plugging in the HDMI there is no feed to my monitor, nor to the mouse and keyboard.

Seems like the whole thing is borked.

How would a fin even be damaged like that in transit? There are no loose parts internally that could even cause such damage. They must have caused the damage while replacing the motherboard and just said screw it we will send it anyway.

From that picture the angle of the GPU looks much better, the bigger cards often have a little ‘sag’.

I’d probably reseat the card into the PCIe slot and pop the power cables out and back in again, just in case they’ve worked loose during transit.
Darn that green box

Well this seems to be the issue. The problem is that the card won't move, at all. I can move it left, right or any which way, so I am unable to plug this back it.

I also don't particularly want to force it because I then probably become responsible and they won't repair it?

That was meant to say, 'i can't move it left...'

Have you undone the screws over here?

No, I was tempted, but considering the issues I have had with the PC before, I don't want to risk voiding the warranty.

I'm calling them now for permission to unscrew things. If they say no I'll get a refund, if they say to go ahead I'll try and fix it.

You need to undo those screws to remove the card
