I have my mouse plugged in on that side for convenience. Its fine when its disabled. I updated the usb 3.0 driver but cant be bothered waiting to see if it crashes again so turned it off. Any idea what the chassis is called for the Enigma III? there was a thread about it but couldn't find it.

No sorry. But you are saying that you plugged the usb bit of a mouse in the USB 3.0 port and it turned off? Or something else? Lol I'm slow today.

you can disable usb 3.0 and just use 2.0 thats what im doing at the moment to stop the freezes and bluescreens

Oh, so you can still put usb sticks and the like into the offending port? It will just run at usb 2.0 speeds? And is that the only thing thats wrong with the laptop atm lol.

It was the audio buzz followed by black screen and crash. And all night i have had the audio sort of drag now and again. E.g. hellllloo and so on. Not sure what to make of it.

anything plugged in to the usb 3.0 port? You can disable the usb 3.0 function in the "Usb host controller utility" so its just usb 2 - installed from the disc and that stops my crashes.

No nothing in the port. Where is that host controller utility? do you mean via task manager?

Also do you know where i can find the most recent drivers for the 540m and whatever onboard soundcard this comp has?

it was on the cd under drivers for usb or something...just the Nvidia website :) and drivers for the sound card also on the cd

hello bud, just wanted to let you know that PCS have told me the screen going black after the audio does that stutter is a graphics card problem (after sending them system logs) so i am having an RMA done. May need to look in to it yourself if its still happening.
