Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

It’s strange but I watched it all so must have enjoyed it a bit. However it was obviously not brilliant as I can’t remember it lol
The zero pay off honestly killed it for me, I love it just for my and her's exact same reaction of looking at each other with a look of bewilderment then bursting out laughing and saying what as if we rehearsed it
It's...erm...weird ;)
Sounds right up my street then, the weirder the better. I spent about 30 years of my life in a different reality to most people, so getting back to that on the odd occasion through healthy means I find quite comforting.

Head twisters like Brazil, Vanilla Skies, The Matrix, and pretty much anything by Cronenberg or Lynch, they all make me think about reality in a way I find quite enticing.

Mentioned a film to Mrs C today and she’d never heard of it so I immediately demanded that we drop everything and watch it there and then. The magnificent Dead Man’s Shoes.

Directed by Shane Meadows and with an absolute powerhouse of a lead performance from Paddy Considine, if you’ve not seen it I’d thoroughly recommend getting straight on it.

Pretty sure I seen that years ago but I would need to re-watch it I think. You reminded me of a couple of gems though:

Dead Mans Curve - This is the darker version of Dead Man on Campus. This movie is far better than the more publicised offering.
The Boondock Saints - If you haven't seen this you absolutely need to. It's a brilliant movie, fantastic cast & performances.
Wild Things - Shouldn't need any introduction.
Cruel Intentions - Similarly dark twist on romance.

Just ended up with a few synapses firing after seeing Dead Man's Shoes, linked from movie to movie for me :D

Love that show and that scene in particular is brilliant

Just finished watching Suspicion, which I liked although the hitman character, was a bit 1 dimensional and the ending was a tad disappointing

Late to the party as always, but a half animated sci fi movie:

Alita: Battle Angel

The animation is absolutely incredible, some seriously good actors including Christophe Waltz and Jennifer Connelly

It's a phenomenal movie. Completely hooked me and the depth of character is unbelievable considering she's animated.... and animated! First class story telling.

I recently re-watched this.. still sitting waiting on a sequel!

I've given up to be honest. I can't believe this didn't crush the box office. To be honest, I blame the name of the movie as it took me years to watch it as I didn't think it would be my thing.

Posters & Titles are almost as important as reviews IMO, sometimes more-so depending on the audience demographic.

Have any of you scumbags seen the new Batman movie yet? I think we’ve been spoiled with the high quality of the Chris Nolan trilogy and Joaquin Phoenix’s performance in The Joker so I’m hoping it doesn’t end up more like a Ben Affleck effort.

I don’t really like Robert Pattinson all that much and didn’t think he was the right choice but would like to be proved wrong. DC movies are so hit and miss compared to the Marcel cinematic universe so I’ve no idea what to expect.

Is it still in cinemas?

Actually, it's a pretty good movie.
I really liked it, it good a "comic" feeling instead of a "movie" feeling
It's "dark", dirty, heavy ... Everything you espect for a batman comics.
I think it's somewhere between "a long halloween" and "batman white knight" for the feeling it got me.

Sorry, i know it's not a good review, but, the point is, it's a pretty good movie
(and the original soudtrack is really well done)

It is indeed. Although I won’t be going to a cinema to watch it as I’m still way too COVID-19 paranoid for that, especially with the kid soon to land in our lives.

Thanks! I don’t need a review, just the honest opinion of people who’ve seen it so your feedback is appreciated 👍

Yeah, absolutely, I don't think that's paranoia, it's good sense to me. I'm still being cautious, in no rush for anything.

I would like to see it, I'm not a huge fan of Robert Pattison, although I did enjoy the Twilight films (sorry, sorry). I never saw the fit, but those who've seen it seem to generally be positive.
