Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

This is a mighty surreal series, I mean Chronenberg levels of odd, but I'm really enjoying it. Definitely adult, so not one for the family nights.

I won't even bother going into the story cos it's so damn odd, but excellent acting, really engaging characters, some very dark scenery and themes.

Brand New Cherry Flavor - Rosa Salazar as the lead (who played Alita: Battle Angel)

Really enjoyed that show, it didn’t take long to let the dog off the chain and get all kinds of weird. Loved it.

Yeah I loved that too. Watched it when it first came out on Netflix. Absolutely bonkers but it had a proper erotic undertones throughout it. I was really confused at times :ROFLMAO:

Just watched Corner Office. Now, I'll admit I didn't give it my full attention but unless I've missed some pretty dramatic undertones then I don't think it commanded my full attention. It was OK but I seen the ending coming a mile off. I think this leaves most of the plot down to the viewers own interpretation as any time at all could completely relate.

I hope I'm missing something though. If anyone else watches it and gets it, let me know :D

watching The Continental: From the World of John Wick over on Prime, loads of action
I had put that on last night but I didn't get into it properly. Will definitely give it a proper go though.

I just finished No One will Save You. Hulu original. Very different from your typical alien/abduction/horror movies. I quite enjoyed it, mostly because it was un-usual. It's nothing spectacular if you want to get the score cards out, but it did draw me in. Very little dialogue at all in it and quite well paced throughout.

Ok, old one, thought I'd seen this but clearly haven't.

Hangover Part II

This came out in the dark days, I could have sworn I'd seen it before, but no recollection whatsoever. Enjoying it, I think I prefer it to the first one.

The third was proper grimy, and it wasn't really a hangover film, they just made it in the same kind of formula.
Ultimately it feels like the first one was a far bigger hit than they were expecting, so it needed a sequel, because MONEY! The second was made doing similar things and that worked. They kinda ran out of unique ideas by the third and the formula needed far more innovation than it got!

Its coming back...for real...456 people not actors, $4.5m prize....

Pity they removed the actual killing though - might have made a perfect 'death row' alternative for some countries with the death penalty - along the lines of Stephen King's 'The Running Man' (albeit the games in the book, like Treadmill to Bucks for those with heart conditions, How Hot Can You Take It, Fun Guns, Dig Your Grave, Swim the Crocodiles and Run for Your Guns) ;)

I always thought reality shows could add a touch of drama and stakes if they just straight up killed the people who get voted out

Yes, proper 'real' reality...none of this 'scripted reality' full of fake outrage and scandal.

Make it a 'risk/reward' type of gameshow...the bigger the prize, the higher the gamble. So to win £1000 you just risk your reputation...but for £10m you risk losing all fingers & toes....and for £100m you risk becoming an organ donor (and if you've got damaged organs already, the prize fund is reduced appropriately).
