Wherever you'd like - there's a "Show off your new PC/Laptop forum" where most people put their reviews if you like :)

And thanks for taking the time to look at doing a review!

Hi. I've been trying to get relevant screenshots to show off the hardware performance of my computer (to have an all-rounded review), but when I run UserBenchmark it doesn't pick up the GPU. It only tests the Intel Graphics... and says the following:-

Userbenchmark is poison and best avoided anyway

Try 3Dmark firestrike (which is free - available from their website or via Steam)

If necessary:
- set Windows power plan to high performance
- set Nvidia control panel to prefer maximum performance / high performance power plan
- set Nvidia GPU to preferred graphics processor in Nvidia control panel

Is CPU-Z safe?

Userbenchmark is safe, it just gives misleading rubbish as results.

CPU-Z is very safe, and very well regarded. Though more as an information tool than a benchmark.

Cinebench is a good GPU benchmark, though Firestrike also has a CPU-only benchmark component as one of the tests it runs.

I can't find firestrike for free, if you've got a link I'd appreciate if you sent it :)

Hi. I managed to do this for Time Spy test (Fire Strike on Steam requires me to buy 3d Mark, and I'm not forking out cash for a benchamrking software :) )

Is this result ok, despite being called invalid?

The text may be a bit blurry, as the original screenshot was too big I resized it in MS Word.

You need to disable gsync for a benchmark otherwise it will limit results which is why it's invalid.

Then to compare, click the compare button and you'll see where you rank amongst others with same / similar hardware.

Experience is kind of bundled bloatware, I only use it for keeping updated with drivers, but it can automatically apply settings per game, but they're really restrictive settings, unnecessarily so to the point where it needlessly nerfes your graphical settings. Basically make sure everything is disabled in experience other than driver updates.

gotcha. thanks. for global graphics settings (control panel) do you suggest I put it as Dedicated? or leave it as "let the app decide"?

I've no idea why it's saying you need to buy firestrike, you don't. You can't run customised settings for free. Perhaps if the nvidia driver / geforce experience is fiddling with the settings you need to stop it doing that, because it sees you're trying to do a customised run and wants money. But the firestrike benchmark is free.

Have you logged into Geforce Experience? If so, it will have asked you the first time whether you want to automatically adjust settings for all games through a sneaky pre-ticked checkbox.

The answer is emphatically no, you don't want GFE to fiddle with your settings. Make sure the box for that is unchecked in settings.
