Would have not went for an Intel bid for a large number of reasons. - change to AMD.

Power supply needs increased.

What monitor you pairing with?

Cooling likely needs changed, depending on AMD cpu you change to.

What Budget and what uses will the PC be used for ? Gaming? Work stuff? Etc.

on board sound is good, you don’t need a separate card.

change to Silver Warrsnty.

if ordered consider cancelling and ordering AMD.

The ordered monitor is 1080p 244 Hz. The 3080 looks to be way too powerful a card for this. You could downgrade to a 3070 and get 1440p 144 Hz monitor for a better gaming experience - possibly even a 3060TI would do.

AMD beats Intel in pretty much all applications at the moment. The Intel 660 M.2 drives have a much lower life than other M.2 drives.

Good spot on the monitor, yeah a 3080 is ever so slightly too much for that.

Its definitely a reorder job.

ROG 27” curved 144mhz gaming monitor.

it’s going to be used for gaming, the video card is not available at the moment though so we are stuck in pre-production.

I am going to enquire about 3070 card but my son wanted the 3080.

just aiming for numbers is pointless, things like screens and graphics cards need to match, bit like CPU’s and cooling.

also current Intel is PCIe 3.0 and not 4.0, which at moment is not big deal but in a year or so may well be.

there is a new Intel CPU released early next year, this means the current ones will quickly fall out of support.

Going 3080 with a 1080p and Intel really means a full review of your build and cancelling.

Have a look at the following for a starter.

I admittedly tweaked one posted by @AgentCooper down a bit to match your budget - monitor depending).

I did however go for Edge as a Browser, as Firefox is currently not as secure, admittedly Chrome is worse but with latest Adrozek, it was more open to exploit.

also example 1440p screen To keep it all circa £2300. (£2338.99).

You can tweak the PC build down a little but things like PSU would limit future upgrade to 3080 (or 4080) at a later date

ditto monitor, if the £2300 is only for PC, you can up the screen to say £400.

it really comes down to how you want to allocate your gaming budget.

anyhow, it’s a starting point that is not Intel.

Have you just bought this monitor especially for this PC and therefore can you return it? Absolutely no point spending anywhere near £2300 to game at 1080p. Heck you can game at 4k using a £400 console.

I have a Costco membership, got it with a 3rd of the price off so I am happy with the monitor, it fits into his space in his room perfectly.

Like seriously, did you not read the above links as to why not Intel, 7th post on this thread, my 3rd.

Read them and then think about it.

Also you have a budget of £2300, does that include screen or not?

budgets need to be balanced, not just all cash on performance, but also cooling, Display quality, peripheral quality etc
