I think its around 8 million still who actively pay the sub. Not that I do, just get included in on details since I did a free trial when building up my Hearthstone Deck.

If I'm sure of one thing, it'll be that WoW will still be here close to the end of the decade unless they release a direct sequel - the player base is far too entrenched.

5.5 million, they lost almost 3 million subs from their Asian market after the release of Mists of Pandaria and haven't built them back up yet.

it's not dying but its health is slowly deteriating.

I've had an account in WoW since it was released but I only play it on and off, maybe a month or two every six months and I'm noticing the drop in population significantly, it always ahs been and always will be a great game in itself, but with the last expansion blizzard made a lot of mistakes, and that couple with Novembers subscription increase and the extremely high prices in its cash shop (yes a subscription game with a cash shop yeeeuuuww), and the next expansion also due in November being more expensive than most full games, I don't think it will even maintain its current sub number for very long.

Don't get me wrong, I love the game, always have, but it seems that Blizzard are trying to run it into the ground and make as much quick money as they can while they can.

The sub hasn't increased in 10 years...it is not like they are doubling it :)

Technically any game is dying as soon as it is released (i.e. it is closer to the time that it will die :) ). That said, the vast majority of "sub losses" weren't even that, they were just Eastern players not paying their minute to minute payments anymore. Long and the short of it, in the world of sub based games, I think WoW still accounts for more than the other major titles put together :)

Also, Wozz, you can't base your liking a game on looking over a friend's shoulder...you have to actually play it to be able to be sucked into the subliminal messaging that keeps you hooked :D

I'm tempted by Shadows of Mordor (though not atm as it is not actually in the sale...only the premium one is).

And of course...ALL THE LEGO! :D

Humble Indie Bundle 12 - https://www.humblebundle.com/
Pay what you want to get - Steamworld Dig, Hammerwatch, Gunpoint
Beat the average (currently £4.60) to also get Papers Please, Luftrausers, Gone Home + more games coming apparently
Pay more than £6.20 to also get Prison Architect (early access)
4 game soundtracks included too.

They've added The Bridge, Monaco and Race The Sun (if you beat the average) since I originally posted. I've only heard of Monaco but all 3 get good reviews.

"pay what u want" - As long as its over a dollar.

I think that is a Steam stipulation since the early bundles did allow you pay 1 cent and then were flooded with bots buying games. Your title is more correct but not as catchy. :)

They'd also need to change their web address - PAyWUWalaioad.com

I believe Humble Bundle still allows you to spend $0.01 on a bundle but gives you a sad picture that makes you spend more :(

The current weekly humble bundle has piqued my interest, one of the games in it is Mysterious Cities of Gold which is touted as a faithful recreation of the original cartoon series in a computer game, a cartoon series that was a big thing for me when I was very young, the whole family used to sit down to watch the show and it brings back some good memories :
