I would edit that a lot, this would include dropping the RAM to 1600mhz as it is more stable, especially when o/ced. You probably won't notice the difference either. I guess you are planning to o/c do you really need to? That is quite a beast, it may not be necessary. If you do want to o/c, that is a very good mobo, I would upgrade the case to a haf-x to provide better space for cooling. For the PSU, I would recommend upgrading to a 1050w to provide enough power for a second gpu. For the gpu, I would recommend getting a 7970, they are slightly cheaper and you won't have to wait, they have similar performance as well. Have you considered an SSD? Finally, do you really need win ultimate? What is your budget?

Prolific Poster
With your budget i would have a look at the spec below, the case you had selected was fine you could stick with that but if you have the budget might as well go all out and get the Haf-X there is no real need for the extreme motherboard or the ripjaw ram (2133MHz ram can be pretty unstable) the GTX590 is a good card but dual cards tend to have a higher failure rate and produce more heat plus they are harded to get hold of so go for a GTX580 and add a second when they drop in price (i upped the PSU to handle this) also the water cooling apart from the risk of it leaking is overkill unless your going to do some major overclocking (this is not needed for gaming and can cause instabilitys) the titan fenrir evo will be fine, i would also stay away from wireless and get a set of homeplugs much more reliable and ultimate is not needed either for gaming home premium is fine and norton used to be a bad AV for gamers but i have heard people say it's ok now but i use the bullguard AV myself which causes no problems and there are some free AV's you can use that do just as good a job but i prefer an all in one suite, lastly with the savings made i have fitted a good size SSD in aswell if you do not want this then get a 500GB barracuda and a second larger caviar black drive for storage as on HDD's the larger drives are slower especially when you start filling them up.

okay il upgrade the case but im not so sure about the graphics card, iv always wanted the GTX 590 and no one has complained about it over heating too much or it going bad or something, also 2 graphics cards e.g. 2 x GTX 580 dont tend to work well with games framerates etc which i read somewhere okay il change the watercooler and ermm whats the homeplug? the reason i wanted wireless was i cannot use an ethernet cable because my router would be too far away from where i would place the computer + i do not want long wires going around either, my budget would about around £2000-£2700 round there. but okay thanks il check it out :) also im not interested in overclocking as iv heard they can damage what ever component your tryna overclock

i'd go with the ASUS® P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3: PCI-E 3.0 READY, SLI, CROSSFIREX as its a newer motherboard, its cheaper and has all the features you could possibly need.

for gaming 16gb ram is overkill and 8gb ram is plenty and i'd also recommend a ssd for faster loading and boot times.

ShadowBlaze

Bronze Level Poster
yeah thing is, it didnt cost that much to upgrade to 16gb + ssd cost way too much for the larger hard drives as im gona be having quite alot of games and video and music etc which are going to drain the hard drive of memory lol

MadMan

Super Star
yeah i know what you mean but you could buy a 120gb ssd and install windows and have a few of your most played games on that and keep the second hard drive as your storage drive with movies, pics, music etc but up to you mate.

TheKeir

Bright Spark
If you can't afford an SSD at least get the caviar black, its a nice fast HDD. You could get a 120gb ssd for booting the pc up but to be honest in my opinion it's a waste of money. SSDs are a luxury, and are not at all needed.

ShadowBlaze

Bronze Level Poster
naa im alright without an ssd, now the new subject since iv got the gtx 590 but is the 7970 better or near enough good? and what would a sound card be used for as im sure it depends on the speaker quality?

Fear

Prolific Poster
@ShadowBlaze you say you read that 2 GPU's don't tend to work well with game framerates i think you will find that they are improved and don't foget that the GTX590 is a dual GPU which is the same as having 2 seperate cards but obviously they are together on the 1 card and they do have a higher failure rate and are harder to get hold of also they are normally a preorder item so don't forget if it breaks you will have a longer waiting time for a replacement to be sourced, the GTX590 is better than the HD7970 and depending on the game the GTX580 can out perform the HD7970 aswell but you have to remember you are comparing a dual GPU against singles. Personally i won't get a PC without a seperate soundcard as i can tell the difference between onboard and a soundcard (even on lesser quality speakers) and i find onboard lacking but you might not notice it so much as everybody is different you could always get your PC without and if your not completely happy with it get yourself a soundcard. I think you went with the 500GB barracuda and the 2TB caviar black on your latest spec so if the SSD does not suit you then leave it at that as you will probably get most if not all your games on it and then you have your 2TB for all your music/photos/videos etc. i don't normally put SSD's in specs i do as i find it better to invest the money elsewhere in the PC plus the price of them and the lower capacity tied in with the limited read/write cycles they have but with your budget and being able to get a larger size 1 it could be worth it but on the other hand i won't get 1 myself untill they have them at a more reasonable price and at least 500GB. Last 1 as has already been said 16GB is real overkill for gaming and is only really needed for people who do lots of HD video editing 8GB is more than enough and tbh most of the time you will be lucky if you get to make use of half of it.

Music Guy123

Prolific Poster
This is what I would get, it is cheaper and is just as powerful, it does also include an SSD, you won't regret getting it, they are so good and really do change the system dynamics dramatically. Anyway, here is the spec:

Case
COOLERMASTER HAF-X FULL TOWER GAMING CASE Good case
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7-2600 Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache) + HD Graphics This cpu will be fine, as you aren't o/cing, there will be no difference between this one and the one above and no noticable difference between this one and the 2700k
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V/GEN3: PCI-E 3.0 READY, SLI, CROSSFIREX***SPECIAL*** This mobo will be fine, the difference between this and the other one is that the other one has 4 USB 3.0 ports, this one only has 2.
Memory (RAM)
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT) You Won't need 16GB but I put it in for you anyway :)
Graphics Card
3GB AMD RADEON™ HD7970 - DVI,HDMI,2 mDP - DX® 11, Eyefinity 4 Capable This GPU will be just as powerful as the 590. It is easier to get hold of so you won't be waiting and it is much cheaper, I really would recommend it over a 590.
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
120GB KINGSTON HYPERX SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW) This SSD is fast and fairly reliable, if you want rock solid reliability, get the intel 510 but they are slightly slower and more expensive. But as above, you really won't regret getting an SSD. Install your OS and your main boot programs on it.
2nd Hard Disk
2TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm) Fast, solid and reliable with plenty of space
1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
10x LG BLU-RAY RE-WRITER DRIVE, 16x DVD ±R/±RW (£65)
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1200W PRO SERIES™ GOLD AX1200-80 PLUS® GOLD MODULAR(£208) Plenty of power.
Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE INTEL CPU COOLER (£19) Cooling should be fine
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD) This should be fine, if you have digital speakers, I would recommend getting this, if they are analogue, the asus soundcard is very good.
Network Facilities
2 x 200Mbps HomePlug AV - Create a Wired Network Using Electric Sockets! (£38) These really are brillian
USB Options
USB BLUETOOTH ADAPTER (£4)
Operating System
Genuine Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit - inc DVD & Licence (£146) You said that you wanted this so your choice.
Office Software
FREE Microsoft® Office Starter 2010 (Limited functionality Word & Excel)
Anti-Virus
BULLGUARD INTERNET SECURITY - FREE 90 DAY TRIAL
Monitor
IIYAMA E2473HDS 24" LED WIDESCREEN, 2 HDMI/DVI-D 1920x1080 (£159) Very good screen, have you considered a 27" or a couple of screens?
DVI-D & HDMI Monitor Cables
1 x 2 METRE GOLD PLATED V1.4 HDMI CABLE (£8)
Keyboard & Mouse
LOGITECH MX5500 REVOLUTION BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD & MOUSE (£129)
Cable Tidy
3 x JML 1.5M Zip Cable Tidy - Professional Cable Management (£10)
Warranty
3 Year Platinum Warranty (3 Year Collect & Return, 3 Year Parts, 3 Year labour) (£135)
Delivery

Remove the sound card from that spec. The onboard sound is already perfectly adequate for high-end gaming. Other than that, it's a great spec :)

Thank you, il be alright with the 7970 then :D and i was also thinking about actually changing the sound card to x-fi fatality champion series not sure i just want the sound card with the best quality?
