I have been waiting 56 pre production days and people moaning over 25😂 gone past the point of caring now it will come when it comes
Okay, what is your companies estimated time to add a new feature to your Product?Software developer here - feel free to contact me PCS. This is not as difficult as being implied.
I get the impression that folk think there is one queue specifically for say people having 3080's in their build or that because they have forked out £600+ on one part they take preference on someone who has spent that amount on a total build, and i'm pretty sure that with X amount of of builders & Y amount of total orders PCS are going to make the best use of their resources to get as many total orders out the door as quickly
56 working days? That's rough. What are you waiting on? 3080?I have been waiting 56 pre production days and people moaning over 25😂 gone past the point of caring now it will come when it comes
I probably won't make any further comments as I was just having a rough morning and felt like moaning a bit about the situation - had some good points raised by some of the other people and mods. I feel for the people sitting at 40+ working days in pre-pro - I'll be there soon enough I'm sure. My complaint was never about how long this is going to take, it takes as long as it takes. I just think it would make it less frustrating of a wait for me personally, if I had a tiny update weekly, even fortnightly re: some basic, very basic figures.Okay, what is your companies estimated time to add a new feature to your Product?
not a bug, or new release but a feature change?
The Dev side of a lot of changes do tend to be straightforward, however that makes the assumption software is not COTS, is not licensed via a 3rd party and they then charge xx times ££ for a feature change.
Then you need to fit it into release cycle, test it etc.
just because an actual change may not be difficult, the QA, the scheduling around anything else maybe.
There is a reason, that nearly every company in the world does not allow a developer talk to the customer.
VERY WELL SAIDSome of you really need to take a chill pill - you admit yourselves to knowing that you're pre-ordered an item that they don't have. If PCS had a queue system where we could actively see our place in a queue it's only going to help one type of person and that's people that are impatient. I'm on day 20 with a STRIX 3080 and 5950x and I see no sign of seeing my order until Jan/Feb. I haven't made a single call to PCS because I'd be wasting everyone's time. It's a pre-order on items with global stock issues... if you didn't foresee this wait then either you simply didn't do any research on what you've ordered or you're just being ignorant and want absolutely anyone to blame. Sit back and relax... we all know it's going to be a long wait but it will be worth it. Your place in the queue is not going to move up any quicker just by simply knowing your place in that queue... if anything I like being in the dark because I have low expectations and one day I will check my order page and be pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed with excitement. You guys should be looking forward to that too.
When did you add the 5900x?3800 Strix OC/5900x build.
I can only speak from my experience and while I did have a long wait, 24th Sept until 23rd November I can't say I ever felt let down or kept in the dark by PCS.
Most communication was fine, a few emails took a while to get answered but that wasn't the most ideal way to ask things, live chat with Alice, seems she is manning the fort herself here, was fine, even when I didn't get an answer to what I asked they were honest and said they just didn't know.
Ghosthud off this forum was brilliant in his responses to some questions I asked them.
I paid by finance and this only started when my PC got dispatched so that was very good, so I have the full year to pay and not 10 months from when I ordered.
I thought the system of how you can amend stuff on your order is brilliant and considering the amount of changes I made, including when In build, everything arrived that I ordered.
And the main thing which I think we all want in the end is the PC is a belter, arrived on a pallet, came extremely well packed, came in the case box with the polystyrene support stuff, the expandable support packaging for GPU, loads of other packaging in there too and the build looks amazing. Can't find any fault here.
Had a slight ram issue but I sorted that in the end but everything else bar the wait I can't really have any complaints.
So anyone still waiting just stick in there and I'm sure you won't be disappointed when you finally get your PC.
Launch day. When did you add the 5900x?
If you look over this thread, we have consistently said that any suggestions or experiences should be fed to PCS, that's without a doubt.I'm waiting till I receive my build before making my mind up abot he overall service. I am prepared to cut them a massive amount of slack due to the pandemic demand and shortages, but you cannot tell me this communication is good, or that customers should not make them aware of their experience. A business needs to know these things so they can improve. By for example amending their automatic email system for persistently out of stock parts, SLA's for replying to emails etc.
There's a huge difference between constructive critisism and plain negativism / trolling.I have no interest to bad mouth PCS or anyone, I would much rather leave a five star review, or say nothing at all. And that still may happen. In fact I have consciously let of leaving a negative review online. For me it's a last resort.
But I am mistified what this website is for? if you should never be critical I guess, it's a PCS fan site? Fair enough. I found it amazingly helpful in recommending builds. Really Spyder you and co do a brillaint job. And save people a lot of money. Perhaps you are unafilliated with them and just enthusiastis for thei company, But I was literally invited by PCS as a business to post on the forum as I ordered, and engage with them . So far the message I have got is that no critisism of the company is warranted and that any customer who expresses diastisfaction is ignorant or mistaken, that's pretty odd for a direcly affiliated forum for a major UK busines. That's frankly bizarre from my experience, I am complaint handler for a major UK institution. I appreciate it may bum you out, but if you have no personal interest just don't read the RTX 308
thread?
When did I accuse you of trolling? Literally none of what I said was directed at you, and never once did I suggest that it was, I was merely explaining what the forum is for and the differences between negativity and constructive critisism. How dare you acuse me of trolling.
They cant give you a true estimate as the amount of cards they get each week greatly changes high amounts or low. With the 3080 being labelled a preorder item it wont cone up on your stock shortage emails you would have had a single email about it already.I ordered the 3080 10Gb on the 11/10/2020 and still not received my pc (41 days later) nor have I been really told anything regarding my order. i saw one user a few days ago saying he had been told by PCS that he was 150th in the queue for his 3080 build which he claimed to have ordered on the 14/10/2020 but yet when i get in touch this information can't be told to me.. each time i ask they say we can't tell you that information? so why is it one rule for one and another rule for someone else. Also, the misleading emails don't help, the latest email I had 2 days ago was stating they did not have my motherboard, no mention of the 3080 so naturally, I got my hopes up thinking they had the 3080 and changed the motherboard which has turned out to be a waste of time and money cause they don't have the 3080 either yet that was not stated on the recent email only that the motherboard was missing nothing else. "sigh" I guess im just getting frustrated at this point when you pay 3k for something you don't normally expect to be still waiting 41 days later.. I understand the card is high demand but id rather be told look you won't receive it until January at the latest, or you're 90th in the queue etc knowing anything is better than knowing nothing after all... look at scan, they show how many outstanding orders they have and what stock they have and when they can expect more and how much of it they expect to receive... this would be helpful here at least you would get a rough idea...
