Some help please

My budget is 5k. Can I get help with overall making a pc that don't hurt its self and can someone also help clear up what motherboard the crosshair is if it is the hero or it is the formula(ik it says hero but I swear it doesn't have wireless). I know somewhat whats good about a pc and I want a full out one built around the 3090ti. Any help would be nice.

Could you let us know what you'll be using it for and if gaming then examples of the games you play will help.

IMO if its only for gaming then a 3090Ti is complete overkill and just not needed

I know the 3090ti ain't needed but yh Ima be using it for gaming and some digital art and stuff for my portfolio. I do wanan use it on 4k on basically anything really and mainly playing top demanding games man.
Let's say what Elden Ring, Minecraft molded to hell same with other souls games.
Not really pvp anymore more like story games like nier or red dead to baulders gate. Alot of warframe to.
Its just I wanan spec it so I can do alot of artwork on it and your occasional Apex Legends and league.
Also thank you for your response and sorry for waffle.

Gaming at 4K isnt really a great experience, and theres often a hardcap on framerates where the tech isnt as far ahead as you would want.
Budget is exceedingly healthy, but I think a lot of it would be a genuine waste.

You really dont need to throw that much at it, it would be better to hold some back and keep it for things like future updates etc because it will give you no immediate benefit.

I think you are heavily overshooting on the CPU and graphics card given what youve said, would benefit from having a 500Gb operating system drive and a separate M2 for games etc I'd also seriously reconsider overclocking a AMD CPU, it tend to reduce performance not improve it where they have built in boosting functions that basically do it for you.

Avoid virus software, itll have a negative effect on gaming (no matter what norton try to tell you about it or how its "configured" for gaming) built in protection with Windows is equally as good, I promise you

RAM - 32Gb is more video editing territory... it would be wasted with gaming and unless professional level photo editting and digital art...not sure you would see any return on the increased cost....streaming and stuff would be a different story if you are creating content.

Motherboard....again... wasted money in my option, a Strix 570X would be MORE that good enough (or even hold on for the next generation with the DDR5 sitting on the horizon?)

Are you able to add in the forum link for your spec? can play with it a little that way and give alternatives.

I'm not to sure how to add the forum link but that would be amazing if you could help me man.
I would love to play 4k on mainly story games where it isn't choppy ik the technology aint fully there yet for the higher up titles but I would love a pc unrestricted man.
I was thinking of waiting for ddr5 but what I was gunna do is buy this pc and then as I upgrade I was going to give my little brother my old parts and build him one.
The main thing I'm really not sure about is the motherboard I can't wrap my head around if it's the good one I've been looking at or even if it better than the one you said and I don't wanan bottleneck myself with anything in the build. I would love the perfect build but that's not happening and ty for the antivirus thing I'll do that in a little man.
Thank you for ur beefy response man XD. And I would love ur help.

So, if you go back to the spec you had on the pcs site, scroll right down and theres a "post to forum" button.
Itll include the link at the bottom of the page it takes you to, just copy and paste the whole thing across

Be aware, upgrading DDR4 to DDR5 is basically rebuilding the ENTIRE system... you wouldnt have spare parts, you'd be starting from scratch (maybe able to reuse the case and PSU but not a lot else)

Strix 570X is a motherboard I have myself, its very very good and great future potential for CPU upgrades...the HERO is wasted money imo but see what the experts say. Other thing is to wait on next generation which would probably be looking at DDR5 anyway... all depends how much of a rush you are in

Im looking at upgrades and stuff myself, joined forum to get some more opinions and advice ( post here contains my spec https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/looking-at-upgrade-options.88850/#post-674991 )

Mate I've been saving up for this pc since November man and ima be able to buy it at the end of May I am desperate for it really and truly.
I do agree with it being wasted money tbf I've looked at build after build but I never see the hero or yh but I do see the strix 570x alot.
So would the ryzen 9 (I won't get overclocked) and the 3090ti not future future proof cause are they not ddr5 compatible to ur knowledge.
If I do upgrade to ddr5 wouldn't I just hv to buy more ram and a new motherboard mainly.
I wanna buy round now because the prices are just dropping and dropping. This spec at Christmas was 5 400 odd when I originally made it then its dropped to 4750 odd. I don't wanan buy when ddr5 comes out maybe half a year later because ik the prices of all components will most likely jump massively.
Once again thank you for your responses man.

With the 3000 Series GPU's a 3090 Ti isnt what youre after for gaming, a 3080 Ti would be a overshoot on 1440p displays but the pure power a 3090 Ti gives is for way more intensive work....

Do you have a monitor in mind already?
Might be easier to start fresh but if I know what your aiming for and what monitor you are planning to pair with, helps guiode the process in a massive way (especially with gaming)

Just throwing some stuff together quickly to give a start point, this is still an exceedingly powerful system (arguably a luxury system) but also doesnt just burn your budget. Great case and will allow some really powerful coolers (some of the cases up atm dont have the space to fit a top spec cooler and the 3000 Series GPU) Overshoot on RAM but would cater for sim games and I think help with VR too.... need to ask one of the experts though

It would chew up 1440p gaming without blinking, and I would also expect it to be more than comfortable with 4K as it currently exists...even cater for higher refresh rates as newer 4K monitors come out

I'm probably looking at what a 4k monitor low a 1ms response time and a very good amount of hertz like the LG UltraGear 27GP950 yh ik its better from frames and refresh rate on a decent monitor so that would be amazing amazing an fps but I'm really outta pvp now ans more into story and nice graphics really.
Ik im spending money and im probably chucking wayyy to much into it and im not fussed about ddr5 or the 4000 series but idk I just really don't wanan **** myself over with stupidty and the idea of getting the best of the best and it not be compatible. My budget alone for the pc is 5k easily. If I don't run in 4k I would be running in 1440p if the frames are to chunky.

Have a look at the spec I posted above, I think it will more than meet what you are looking for.
Have a wait and see what some others think, i'm really not an expert with the fine details so worth getting more imput.

I cant think of a monitor that it wouldnt run smoothly though, including some real top spec monitors like the https://www.samsung.com/uk/monitors/gaming/odyssey-g9-49-inch-240hz-1ms-curved-lc49g95tssrxxu/ which is one of the best out there atm (although 1440p) I dont tend to look at 4K for gaming monitors, personally I think its wasted time atm and probably will be for a few years yet.

Ik the ryzen 7 and the 3080ti are amazing and ik the jump from the 3080 and the 90 arnt the biggest jump making the 80 better per money u pay. I'm not sure why I'm being so stubborn about it its just idk. My mind is stuck with the whole must be the best parts at the time and I am aware they will become obsolete but it'll still be holding ground easily easily in what maybe 5 years onwards time.
I'm using a pc from 2009 with a few upgrades at this moment alot of things have will easily be better than that thing but I do want best of the best and ik your build is really good and gives me money to spend on other things.
But can I ask to your knowledge with my build but I switch to ur motherboard how good would you think it would be running photoshop.
Ik rust is a demanding game and runs like shit with these specs on 4k I am prepared to be playing 1440 and I do kinda wanan spend less money on a build like that.
Personally man, what would you buy and how stupid and I being.

That is a cool monitor icl I haven't looked much outta 4k or into monitors really as I haven't thought that far past the pc icl. But that one is a pretty monitor. I do like them pcs and the fact u don't hv a split between the 2 things on ur screen but can you run a game and YouTube side by side on that monitor and thank you sm for your time man you are actually helping me alot. <3

It really does depend on purpose when it comes to building a system, just because something is higher spec on paper its not always better in real terms so try to avoid getting distracted by serial numbers.

You want to think about what monitor you are going for, that leads the main part of the discussion when it comes to GPU, and then what you are going to be doing on it.

That gives you core component needs, and then you look at pairing up components from there such as cooler and the like.

Theres a guide on building systems on the forum, it should explain a lot more for you.... you need to forget the "vanity" grab everything at highest spec approach, it often leads you down the wrong path and can actually sabotage end performance in a complete system. Look at function and interaction.

Its what many consider to be the ultimate monitor, and if you are looking at story and immersion, you'll have a hard time beating the experience you would have with that.

Thank you man alot for this. This was sooo much help man and its got links to monitors and stuff. I'm not gunna get all happy and buy a pc right away if I go for something like the 70 but its I don't get a 90ti ima probably get the 80 maybe 80ti.
Ima have a few looks at graphic design pcs and stuff like this because I do want to know whats best as my gf is going to be using it for some of her uni course work so I am a little conflicted on a degrade yet not a degrade ik overall performance wise I'll miss out on maybe 9 frames from the 80ti to 90ti its not big and ik it will get left behind one day but then I can get myself a new one with ddr5 when it becomes the norm or ddr6 and ill end up giving my little brother it.
That monitor is really really helpful man I was against wide screens but I've never fully looked at a selection of them so thank you.

12700k is a fantastic all round CPU, excellent for both gaming and productivity.
As mentioned above DDR5 isn’t quite optimised to beat out DDR4 memory, and when it does it does at a huge premium. 32GB of 3600mhz RAM will be great for your uses.
Anything above the 10GB 3080 goes into the land of diminishing returns, the 3080ti is pretty much the top end. It’s also worth pointing out that the new generation of GPUs launch in September so I wouldn’t recommend chasing the best so close to it inevitably being beaten out by its successor.
Monitor Wise I would probably go for a 4K monitor in your shoes as you will benefit from an IPS display. The G9 is a great monitor but for your digital work you will likely benefit from the colour accuracy and extra resolution packed into a 4K IPS display There are quite a few options these days, the LG mentioned above will do well but we can suggest some others as well.

Above is exactly what I would recommend also. What I would say, for RPG style games, I think the G9 Neo would have a real place for you. For content creation flat panels can sometimes be an advantage, but with this sort of budget you can definitely have the best of both if you wanted to.

The only thing I would add to the above would be the 1200w PSU over the 1000w. Reason being, we can already see that you're pushing for the high end GPUs. The next generation GPUs are going to be power hungry again, so if you wanted to upgrade you may need to make sure you have the power availability on tap.
