Because windows has likely updated it to the wrong driver.

I tried installing the new drivers you said to download and installed them and no difference in speed

what could the probelm? I think I will just use a wired connection going forward

Did you install them? If you go to device manager and look at the card does it say it’s an intel device or otherwise?

Sounds as though could be a dodgy card, maybe see about an RMA on the card and possibly asking if you can upgrade to the AX200. which is a duel channel card with bluetooth

yh it says intel, it sayed it installed I had to connect to my wifi again so

If it says intel then you haven't updated the driver.

Can’t say, don’t know how you installed it. Windows installs an intel driver which is incorrect as it’s a Realtek chipset.
