I’d get a better cooler, the one selected is not up to the job. You need a 240 min for current gen CPUs, with 360s being the optimal.

I’d also look to add a second SSD so you have a fast (gen 4) boot drive and then a larger drive for all your game installs.

What monitor will you be using with this build?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I have taken the advice on board and upgraded the case size, installed a 1000W power supply in case I want to upgrade the GPU in the future and added the 240 frostflow liquid cooler as per recommendation.

I wouldn't suggest the frostflow, I would suggest a Corsair, the pumps are significantly more efficient and they move far more coolant at higher rates.

I don't think the PCS one would be sufficient.

I've just had a chat with the guys on the phone and they've said it will be fine :)

I mean if its marginal gains I'm not overly fussed. If its significant then obviously I'd pay a bit extra.

Thanks though. Appreciate all the responses.

The Corsair cooler will enable you to control all your cooling and lighting from one piece of software, its worth an extra few quid just for that in my book, especially on a build like you have specified.

I use a 55 inch LG C2 at 120Hz for all my gaming (PC and consoles). So only 120FPS max I'm afraid. Although Im not a total FPS freak I like to try and maintain around 60.... anything over this is a bonus and anything under a minor disappointment lol.

Ok, is there anything you would recommend? Corsair 115i?
Minimum of the H100i Pro, preferably the H115i Pro

The capellix is the RGB version of the Pro, the Pro is still very good. Avoid the X f you can as it's old now. And the LCD version is simply eyecandy and exorbitant cost

OK I'll call them tomorrow and look at changing to the "Corsair iCUE H115i RGB PRO XT Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler".

I've decided to just go all out now and get the RTX 4090. I said to myself I am already spending a lot of money and I want to try and future proof myself a little bit and the 4090 will give me a bit more longevity I think.

I had to change the case as well because it wouldn't fit o_O

You'll need a substantially larger PSU

It's only going to use a maximum of 760W with the RTX 4090 and corsair 115i liquid cooler. The website said the 1000w is fine which includes the 20% allowance. Order placed now. Should be with me on Tuesday / Wednesday hopefully!

Nvidia themselves recommend a minimum of 850W for the 4090 and that leaves you with 250W for the rest of your build

also look at power spikes that modern GPU's are doing, I wouldn't want less than 1200W with a 4090

The 13700K btw the way can pull over 250W in the right circumstances

The 850W is what Nvidia recommends for total system power, not what the card itself can draw. To be clear, I'd want more headroom than that, but the card itself pulls around 450-500W, not 850. (Also, I can't make your maths work? 850+250=1100?)

That's not correct, the founders edition is power limited to 450W, aftermarket cards pull up to 600W, so as PCS don't supply founders edition, you have to assume the 600W GPU power.

Factoring in for Transient spikes, that's 1200W just for the GPU

That's IF you're doing it properly.

But the 4090 does not draw 850W. That is what Nvidia recommends as total system power. I'm not saying it's a good idea, just clarifying what Nvidia are actually saying.
