Ah I do apologise, I wasn't aware of the policy on that. Is it okay if I just post some of the components as a guide, rather than referring directly to the build from that provider?
Hi guys, I'm posting here as a favour for a friend. She is looking for a tower PC for her son. Her total budget is £1,000 max, including screen and peripherals.
I had a look on the PC specialist site and found some good prebuilds and then I found this spec that actually looked quite good, with...
Is it possible your PSU isn’t enough?
Just a cursory check of the CPU and GPU and the bare minimum is 450W - https://www.whatpsu.com/psu/cpu/AMD-Ryzen-3600/gpu/NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-2060
I wonder if that plus the power draw from the HDD and the Cooler might just be pulling more than it can offer?
My apologies on the event viewer stuff - I gave you the wrong instructions (I'm still in training!)
Could you rather "Save All Events in Custom View As..." and save them as a CSV file please? My apologies.
Also you'll need to create shareable google drive link that gives anyone with access the ability to download your event viewer files, otherwise I can't get access to it :)
Might as well just tell us temperatures your CPU & GPU are reaching.
You'll need to open File Explorer as an administrator if you want to do anything with it, as it's a file that's written with admin permissions. The MEMORY.DMP file is quite an important one for us as it tells us what was...
There are also some things that people are inevitably going to ask for when you're talking about BSODs.
You'll need to look in C:/Windows for a file called MEMORY.DMP - This is a memory dump from when the crash happened and helps people on this forum to identify where the issues are. You can't...
Something of an interesting development. I had another google about and found someone recommending disabling the "performance core boost" feature in the BIOS, which ups the voltage in a core to handle additional load. Since disabling that, the game hasn't crashed all day (previously it was...
Hi Carlos, thanks for this. Definitely something I was considering last night - just clean install Windows. Is there some sort of test I can perform to check the integrity of the nvme drive?
Yeah, when you google for this issue it's all AMD Ryzen 9 5900x CPUs, so it's not a coincidence. It's a bit of a pain, but it's not the end of the world. The PC is still pretty functional for the time being anyways. Been a bit of a saga though!
Chris
Unfortunately, this is back and I suspect that @ubuysa was right all along - there's something hardware related going on here. Multiple games from multiple vendors, happens intermittently.
The new behaviour now is that it no longer writes out a memory.dmp file, so I can't show much there...
Hi folks - worked it out! The puck in my wall was on the bottom shelf of a little hall shelf thing, I moved it to sit on top after reading advice that it should be in a wide open space. After that, the wired connection between the puck in the office and my PC is now running at 280mbps, which is...
OKAY, thanks for the pointers here. I checked my router settings and looked online and some other people reported that bridging from a BT Hub to a mesh network shaved off some speed, so now the puck is going right into the wall. That's got me up to 225mbps which is awesome! However, based on...
