Uhh, it has 33% fewer cores. And the 3900 in this laptop doesn’t perform that much slower than the desktop full fat, which is MILES ahead of any 3700x.
Multithreaded workloads are crucial for me ngl and those extra cores are a welcome plus
Was wondering, is this a good build for physics simulations? CPU power is king here and honestly I don’t mind splurging a bit more cash on a 2070 over a 2060, the card I would have originally gone for. In-game future proofing blah blah...
(Probably move me to a new thread or something to not...
I’ll do that. Thank you. It’s really been incredibly frustrating so far and I’ve yet to find a silver lining, heck your compliments might count as one!
I’ll wait for them to contact me again and I’ll look at the options they present to me but will ask for a replacement like you said. Maybe even...
i've had 3 RMA's within 5 months of ownership. yes i'm starting to question the quality control with PCS :(
anyway, first time round it tookk 2 weeks before they sent it to me. second time, they took 5 weeks to send it back and within 3 days of it returning it began sutting down and glitching on...
Check this out if you want a big screen that badly. The difference between rtx 2060 and the 1650 is over 70-80% so I would think twice before wasting money on your pick.

I didn’t find any 2933MHz ram in the Configurator. 2666 is the best I guess? I hope OP sees it and changes it I can’t be arsed to go editing all that on mobile lol. Didn’t know the intel is a bad SSD tho. On a budget build of £12-1300 it’s an acceptable SSD I hope?
do you want to use it for gaming or for productivity/CPU intensive tasks?
also yes, per-spec PCS make significantly cheaper laptops. I've had quality control issues but i don't know if they're the norm or not.
anyway, assuming it's for gaming, this is the best you can get from PCS.

Uhh, use a single 1TB SSD so you can add another one later.
I don’t know how much data you will be working with in the future so I don’t know which of the two is better for you, Forgaming 512 is the minimum as I started to get storage issues if I had more than 8-10 titles downloaded with...
you really have no reason to go above £1200, the one i picked should be the best for your needs apart from lower than optimal storage (You can bump this up with external SSD/HDD or install a new SSD yourself down the road). Also, the rtx 2060 is a pretty capable GPU so you might find yourself...
i had exactly the same symptoms with my laptop (optimus x w/ i7 9750h and rtx 2060). totally unresponsive, screen was unmoving from an in-game image. It happened three times, and on top of all this were the heat issues you advised a repaste for. The cure (that i am proud to say i figured out by...
